Level 3 had some sort of major WHOOPS moment on the 27th, an "unexpected issue with routine network configuration change" type whoops that broke poo poo at a USA wide level. I tried to connect earlier tonight but the launcher took forever to do anything so I said fuckit. One of the community mods in the Neverwinter section blamed this outage for everything wrong with trying to connect to Neverwinter. Doing traceroutes to patchserver.crypticstudios.com from my computer goes to poo poo somewhere in the Cogento network, on a hop that's named for something in Boston... which is where Cryptics servers apparently are. Here, have some pretty pictures: http://imgur.com/a/9fNKD

Visited with an old, good friend for the first time in almost a year yesterday. He's still playing regularly, thinks everything's fine and, at worst, the Featured Episode bonuses make up for the horrifying grinds. I fear for his children.

Actually the FE spec point rewards are pretty great for a casual, I'd imagine. Probably the one smart move, on Cryptic's part, that I can recall in recent memory.

The temporal research doff things from the last lockbox too. Comes at the same spec point grind issue but from the other end. For quite a while, the question from space rich / cash whale players was "why don't you loving sell spec points? I would pay not to grind!"

crazed pubbie posted:Anyone who knows the name 'Druk' knows you are a troll at ESD. For the last 3 years I've witnessed you start arguments for hours on end, almost on a daily basis. The chat would be quiet or people will be having a friendly conversation and you pop in saying things like "they're trying to take our guns away" or "Edward Snowden needs to pay for his crimes" (you were actually trying to convince people to hunt him down and kill him in real life). If people don't respond you say it again, or something else of a political or religious nature, until it triggers a negative response. Then you keep people arguing for hours, and I do mean HOURS. I could come back 3 or 4 hours later and you're still there arguing. http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/comment/12703671/#Comment_12703671

This thread is on lockdown, someone gave that troglodyte on the STO forums our thread and now he's posting our secrets over there. I just had to field a call from one of our devs, there's a crackdown going on looking for leaks. We may lose our extra dil turn in if it goes too deep. Don't post any more secrets in here, we don't need our dev getting fired and losing backdoor privs. Korgan fucked around with this message at 10:17 on Aug 31, 2015 |

Just woke up to this poo poo. Can't believe we've been compromised again, and, from the looks of it, this one isn't going to go away anytime soon. Looks like it's time for MOPP to disappear for the time being until we can reorganize and get Cryptic's green light. See y'all in a few months.

Here's hoping they can't see this. I have plans to meet up with Cryptic Studios later next year. We haven't fine-tuned what to expect, but it may change the outcome of STO forever.
