Those models look amazing. My buddy and I chatted about possibilities for the Infinity RPG for a while after our regular game.

...Which I won again. :smug: His JSA vs. my FRRM. My buddy made the mistake of bringing a Domaru Butai link team with only Chain Rifles. I took him apart with some Chasseurs and a Link team of Metros at the 12-24 range. I'm getting a real feel for the range bands now after some 20-30 games. Infinity runs at a real nice clip when you've got two experienced players.

Yeah the guys at my club who picked up the box have been raving about it, so it's good to hear that it is genuinely good, fair play to CB though because Icestorm was excellent as well.

Rammed in a 250pt game after some work today as well, decided to field test my Anathematic at 250pts despite not really being able to make a list I like with it, so it forced it into being a specialist because I kind of refuse to take a non-Mnenomica Lt so I'm kind of forced into a Skiavoros. It worked really well vs my buddies Frogs, he couldn't deal with it and it ate some dudes by shooting meanie plasma guns at them and scored most of my objective points. :)

:qq::qq::qq:
Is there a place I can read rules for how escalation works?

These are the models I own, should I play Vanilla or NCA?

Pan-O from icestorm
Box of Fusileers
2 box of Auxilia
Swiss Guard
Aquila Guard
Hospitaleer Knight
Squalo

Flipswitch

You can play both with that excepting the Hospitaller so your preference mate. If you go vanilla pick up a second Nisse when the new sculpt hits and it might be worth investing in a box of Remotes and Bulleteers.

Genghis Cohen

Well Neoterra is also losing out on the akali, orc, father-knight and nisse from the starter. I would say currently you have a potential neoterra list (fusilier link and auxilia for orders, plus aquila and swiss, or a squalo, which is a pretty good list structure) or you have several vanilla PanO lists. Personally I would start playing with Vanilla if you're new to the game, it's easier and better for you to learn the fundamentals then learn how link teams can add to your tactics, rather than to start out with them.

Aye true, am phone posting so am keeping it brief. I'd recommend vanilla but I think vanilla PanO is pretty drat good and fun to play, despite how strong NCA is, I've never really enjoyed them as much as core PanO.

What do you think is more worth it to play at 250, the Anathematic or a Charontid?

This is also relevant to my interests. I have both, I am leaning towards the anathematic because of surprise factor but charontid LT with HMG seems ridonk

Pierzak

Charontid all the way. Anathematic got hit hard with N3 - no camo first strike, sepsitor changed and limited, plasma nerfed, and Charontid got a cybermask making Annie almost obsolete.

Flipswitch
Mar 30, 2010

Definitely the Charontid, it has a lot of good profile options and although the Annie is pretty decent, it sits really, really awkwardly in list building. The surprise shot sepsitor is funny but the Charontid is way better I think, just a far, far more versatile platform and you get more out of a Charontid Hacker than you will a Anathematic Hacker as there's no loss in not taking the Charontid as your Lt, whereas it's a bit more awkward to use the regular Annie Hacker when you still need an Lt.

Like the Annie lorded over that game I took him in, but the Charontid is easier to build with, has far, far more options and is also ridiculously good. TO Camo is sexy, don't get me wrong but I prefer the versatility of either a Hacker+ or a MSV3 HMG Lt. If the Anathematic gets a slew of Lt options in N3HS it'll definitely be stronger, I'm curious how CB will touch it if they do. The errata clearly shows they were a bit afraid of TO Camo Sepsitors.

E: Actually while I'm posting, has anyone here ever had to use MAS customer services? I picked up a pair of the District 5 building sets and they went together like a dream, but one of them was missing one of the small door frame bits that go on the sides and I've not had to deal with them before. It doesn't really feel worth messaging them but it does show into the building otherwise.

Charontid hacker LT is still vulnerable to isolation despite mnemonica, IIRC. Then again, it's a heavy HI with WIP 16 so :fuckoff:

Yah, also to the anti hacker programs but he's a boss so who cares.

I like the fact he can fairy dust himself. :downs:

E: Also Annie chat, as much as I want to love the Annie I can't help but think the Sphinx does the Spitfires job but way better, sure it's like 20pts more but it's also like 20x more bad rear end.

Thanks all. Charontid it is. I still fear a Infil/Impers CC specialist getting around and gutting the poor thing, but that's the price you've got to pay for superior heavy fire support. Unless you're Achilles.

More worried about losing 80 points worth of killing then being put into loss.

Kinda why I rarely take tags. Because a Shinobu out of nowhere will bring it down pretty drat easily. Probably a fear born of playing Yu Jing and doing it to others.

One of the best things you can do in your spare time if you're a sad alec like me is to crack open either the ITS 2015, N3 Rulebook or the Rules subforum and just read for 10-15 minutes a day.

I sometimes do it when I'm bored in work and have already done my days duties. Great way to pick up pieces of knowledge.

Indeed, or to reinforce poo poo that often gets forgotten, like the -3 MOD to doing anything while being targeted by Suppression Fire.

Which is painful, since the -3 is what makes suppression fire function. It's one of those rules that's a lot easier to remember if you mentally connect it to supfire's range bands, so whenever you read that big fat +0 when you'd expect to see +3 you immediately think "oh, it's because of the -3."

It's the closest thing Infinity has to a tarpit.

They're Welsh for the most part so I've learned not to expect much :v:. To be fair it was only two of them and a third watching, but he was new so I can forgive him.

The fault may actually have lined with me to begin with though, I may not have mentioned that effect and only told them it was an ARO profile with its own stats, either way they should have read it fully themselves because this was months ago. :shobon:

Speaking of suppressive fire, I am tooling around with my vanilla CA list, and one change I made (had a little SWC left over) was to change one of my FO unidrons to a k1 combi unidron, specifically to use as a really nasty suppressive fire once he is in a good spot.

Flipswitch
Mar 30, 2010

I haven't used the K1 Unidron much, how much work has he done for you? I've played the Lt Umbra profile twice who has a K1 and it's a nifty piece of ammo if the enemy has ARM3+, didn't really think too much of it other than that.

Hoping we get a K1 Unidron & Tinbot blister sculpt for when Onyx hits but I have doubts of that happening.

Real work, or work in the dojo? In the dojo he is undefeated, has kiled 3 TAGs and an HI link in ARO.

In real games, he has yet to be placed on a table, as I just bought all teh CA poo poo a few weeks ago :v:

Cool, that's fair man, I can see myself running one more when the sect hits for that Tinbot action as Hackers are seeing a resurgence in play down here at the minute and although my Unidrons generally have yet to get hacked (people are too busy gunning for my Umbra) but I'm a bit wary of it.

Nowhere near enough plasma guns mate! (it looks fine, let us know how it goes). The only change I'd be tempted to consider is to give the Maakrep a sniper, but I'm quite fond of using him as a counter sniper and scalping camo threats off the table, it's a gameplay and meta/terrain choice there.
