Everything in the Ultimate Edition is cheaper than buying all the content separately. But, like every other game, you can wait and get it cheaper.

The real question is, how badly do you want to race with 23 other goons on Nurburgring at night in cars that have no headlights? (Lotus E23 deathbowl commence. Last survivor wins)

Edit whatever: http://www.jeuxvideo.com/preview/441013/forza-motorsport-6-un-retour-tonitruant.htm video on this page shows some of the car list in game. F&F cars are movie cars. Also, E class is back, yay.

Edit again: Spotted First Day DLC cars in the list too, including 458 Speciale, 2016 Mustang GT350R nevermind, VIP cars

F6 demo taking for loving ever to download.

Is F6 proper pre-loading now too?

so how is it, I'm installing MGSV first and then gonna download the demo

L_Harrison

^ Yes (Forza 6 pre-loading is available now)

First Impressions here:

The driving feels great. Compared to previous Forza titles, the tires have more give to them, so you suddenly don't find yourself sliding sideways without grip with no warning. You can push the car and flirt with the edge of control, while not losing a significant amount of time speed wise. In previous games, it always felt like you were trying not to go over the edge. Now, you can pass the edge and bring it back under control without too much penalty. From what I drove, curbs also handle more realistically. You can somewhat attack them and not prepare for the car to become instantly unbalanced. Again, it seems like all the cars have a bit more flex to them. They don't handle like rigid shoeboxes without tuning.

Loading times seem quicker than Forza 5, and the pre-race interface is mostly unchanged. You get more bonus for not using the assists, which is nice. (73% for me, compared to the typical 50% in Forza 5). The female announcer from Forza 5 is back, so if you didn't like her in that, well ...

Visually, it's not all that different from Forza 5. The cockpit view has been pushed back by default a bit, and the near chase camera is now more like the traditional far chase cam. So, what about the original far chase cam? It's even further back. Tire smoke has improved. Still plenty of aliasing, like in Forza 5, especially at nighttime when the lights are illuminating all the crevices and contours of the cars. But in some cases, the graphics look worse, like at Indianapolis when looking down the long straights. Also, despite the changes to the infield course of that track, the oval is still awful and mostly unchanged from Forza 4/5. In other words, it's that same bumpy, mountainous, too-wide mess that's completely inaccurate.

Oh, and the indycars smoke the tires during a lap there. Because Forza reasons. It just looks silly.

Rain is pretty fun, and visually looks great. (The rolling fog near the surface is loving incredible.) Driving-wise, it has more grip than I thought it would, but the puddles are just loving stupid. Especially at a flat track like Sebring. They're just placed in random rear end locations to annoy the poo poo out of you more than anything else. And of course they never change since nothing is dynamic. So basically you have to memorize the track and learn where they are, because some areas the clean line is reduced to one lane. In other areas, they cover the complete track. There's a fast corner as Sebring that has it all the way across, and it's just really silly. In other words, they'll be hilarious in multiplayer.

Oh, and the post-race nonsense is skip-able!

TL;DR Lime Rock is great. Indy oval is still a pile of poo poo. Slight graphical hit. Rain and night are mostly fun. Better physics. Drivatars still drive drunk. Rio and Lime Rock will have huge rear end wrecks in multiplayer for sure.

I might also be #2 in the world on the Lime Rock Rivals event.

proper way to buy the game if you can wait out the first packs of dlc is to get the game either used or discounted (like I get it from best buy for $47.99) and then buy the dlc when it inevitably goes on sale for 50% off or so, then you can get forza and all the dlc for roughly $60 (if you pay $30 for a used copy)

if you can't wait then just pay buy the ultimate edition because it's the best deal

reminder that the DLC is just cars and no tracks, are they really worth that much to you? They aren't to me until im black out drunk and have my wallet within reaching distance

Definitely Forza. Visually, the game looks good. It's not a jaw dropper like Driveclub or PCARS. Unlike PCARS, it's an absolutely stable 60 with not even a hint of dropping below.

Oh god whoever thought adding a default 24 notches of deadzone is a goddamn lunatic.

are you hiring

e:surprised by how many tracks are in this demo. i haven't played the same track twice. wet sebring is fantastic, easily going to be one of my favorite tracks. rain physics are better than pcars imo, grip makes more sense, it doesn't feel so.. off like pcars. And surprise...puddle physics! very much surprised me the first time it pulled my car into a spin. i've never felt water friction in a racing game like this before, it feels realistic and good

My only grouch from playing at pax with this game is a possible overusage of the puddles. I like you can straight up hydroplane but afraid they'll use it way too much and be leading on the final corner and randomly lose traction and into the dirt you go.

I think from what I understand they're not randomly placing puddles. Puddles form in the same places where they do on the real tracks so it's more about learning the spots to avoid or let off the gas.

Game looks awesome. Can't wait until the 10th.

For anyone else who's done the rivals, does it seem like it's adding almost a full second to your lap time once you cross the line?

Edit: \/ That's right, duh. Thanks!

Yeah, the time you set is the total time from the get-go, not the lap time. So, it's your lap + that little bit before you actually cross the line the first time to start the lap.

I yanked my Xbone out of the closet for this and it's totally worth it. The way they do rain is a million times more interesting than the lazy-rear end way most games do it with the blanket -X% grip nonsense they just slap down over the entire track. I just wish they had a variant of the 'Ring that was both rain AND night for maximum masochism.

Maybe not, but I don't see why mods are something to be bitter about? As far as I can tell you are not obligated to use them, and IIRC they are not applicable in multiplayer.

The only thing I didn't like about it was that every game needs a card collecting mini-game now thanks to the overwhelming success of EA's Ultimate Team. I assume there will be microtransactions around this too. That said, you aren't under any obligation to use them, and I do actually like the challenge mods.

I finally managed to pre-order this btw.

After days of trying to order it via their website and getting all sorts of bullshit from support about my account being "high risk" and telling me to use a different payment method I gave in, dusted off my xbone and ordered it through that.

Surprise! It worked first time.

Maybe this is all a part of Microsoft's ploy to get us to replace our PCs with Xbones! :tinfoil:

Okay great that's £80 pissed away looking forward to bombing around Nurburgring at night time in E class classics.
So pumped, this looks like the Forza the Xbone needed. Let's just pretend 5 never happened.
