Really liked the beta and the way the game is headed. Well except for hellstorm missiles.

although contrary to the conventional wisdom I don't think it's like 10 times better than AW. I'd say its better by like only 1.3x (which is still a lot, its like one review star more ) because of the better sound design and characters eith more personality (face it, theres never going to be fundamental innovation in gameplay at this point), incorporation of destiny super mechanics, and the way wallrunning and boosting with shotgun is so satisfying.

I'd better get on my AW master prestige before bo3 takes away all teh players...

I also really enjoyed what I played from the beta, I like the specialists concept and think they all got good abilities though some will probably end up better than others. I hope the game will reward users who try to aim for the head this time around, as in AW not only was it difficult to do so but almost every weapon (outside of snipers) had zero head damage multiplier, it even required two hits to the head with weapons like the mk14.

All the weapons appear to be usable, and the Sheiva is pretty wonderful to me after a whole year of having no good semi-auto rifle to use (gently caress the mk14 and emp3). Now what I'm wondering is if we're gonna see more goons play on PS4 or on Xbox one.

As for PC I'm gonna have to wait to see if they fix up the game before release, having full dedicated servers all the time sounds great and though people say that Cod on pc is dead, Black ops 2 was pretty good even 2 years after its release.

This PC version was actually decent once the default settings are un-hosed. It's baffling that they even have resolution scaling as an option on PC. It looks like complete and utter garbage on a computer monitor like a JPG set to 200% in mspaint.

I preordered this for PS4 since I liked the beta so much.

Also got an email that if you played the beta you'll get a free theme and calling card.

The game was literally unplayable for a lot of people (including me) without having resolution scaling set to the absolute minimum, especially since the mouse input felt like complete and utter garbage and the game would hitch and freeze at any framerate below 150+. Apparently the beta was completely fine for most AMD cards but completely hosed for most NVIDIA cards.

Prerendered frames cause very noticeable input lag though, as someone who doesn't really care all that much about how games look I much rather just made it look like poo poo to get reasonable performance. I was very happy to have the option to scale but I really don't get why it was set to 0.8 by default.

I agree that sprint cancelling is the one true way to cancel, but guns reload so late in the animation I'm not sure it's worth it.

Reload canceling also is useful for when you simply want to cancel the reload so you can shoot quickly regardless of having the reload be successful. If I've started a reload with 8 bullets left, and then some enemy shows up, I want to cancel my reload and at least try to shoot the dude with my 8 remaining bullets.

Every demon wants his pound of flesh
I'd like them to add in the double tap quick reload from Advanced Warfare - faster reload, but you lose all remaining ammo in the magazine.

The slide mechanic from AW where it carries your forward momentum when you jump out of a slide would also be nice. It's a good touch that you can boost out of water onto solid ground - I'd expected it to just let you boost to the surface of the water, then have to boost again to get out.

I hope the other maps have more opportunities for wall running.

I like that I can see my shadow. All toned and regal.

The biggest thing I missed in BO3 about the movement mechanics is that they removed bunnyhopping. Not many people realise it but you can bunnyhop to hilariously broken speeds in AW, especially if you combine it with the boost/boost jump.

I just don't understand you guys wanting all the crazy movement options from root beer. At that point it's no longer CoD.

Not that I didn't have fun in AW, but it definitely didn't scratch my yearly CoD itch.

Yeah why does everyone want to make the game fun? It's way better to drop shot down narrow corridors and spawn camp.

The difference between confinement and rest is a shift in perspective

Most goons i've noticed prefer the older games where it's a bit slower and they can more or less play as they can talk about their day with friends, while pubstomping 12 year olds in a stacked group. there's nothing wrong with it and it's a lot of fun but it also means making the games faster and faster over time means you need to be a lot more focused on the game then just chilling out idk

around the time Black Ops 2 came out I started playing a lot more FFA/Solo TDM so I dont mind the newer faster games as much since I can hold my own and like just sort of focusing on doing well, but I get how a lot of people who treat the games as more of their social game of choice might feel irritated

Who wants to play video games?
The movement in A&W never felt good or natural, it always felt really janky to play. I did catch myself a few times during the beta clicking in the left stick to side boost but I think Blops 3 movement feels like a better mix between "Classic" movement and "FUTURE EXO WARFARE" movement.

I'm sure I'll hate the game/movement a week after release though.

Also Metal Gear Solid V is so god drat good. Who needs another game until November.

You're totally right, there's no middle ground between everyone headglitching in one spot and jumping around open maps like tweakers.

CoD hit detection has never been great under laggy conditions. Trying to hit people moving perpendicular can be a crapshoot. Adding faster movement options makes it even more pronounced. Not to mention that the open maps really remove focus on CoD's historical emphasis on area control.

There's a reason Blops 3 is toning down movement options, nerfing stock, and going back to more lane-y maps.

I still really dislike Treyarch's 3 lane maps. I know they can do good maps that have more varied terrain, but they tend to be the minority.

I'm also not convinced the movement here adds a lot for me personally. Specifically the wall running/boosting. The super easy and fast omni directional mantling is a cool and good thing, but the other two combined with infinite sprint and the maps the way they are just felt insanely frenetic at all times.

I had multiple games with 50+ kills that didn't feel like I had to expend much effort to get there, I wasn't even having particularly great games - just the time to engagement was so low (and the spawn trapping so bad, a separate issue) that I would constantly be killing people with guns or streaks.

re: reloading, I thought the reload cancelling poo poo was Gung Ho only? It was on all the time and I didn't notice? How did I not notice that, I'm hardwired to sprint a single step after reloading a gun.

I'll probably pick this one up, I skipped AW, but it's definitely on the fence. I don't really want titanfall movement or destiny supers in my cod. Just give me dudes with guns, some fun perks, cool streaks, and good maps :saddowns:

Give me this, make it f2p and patch it every few months like World of Tanks or Warframe or something. Would play forever.

You know what else I miss? (other than the AC-130, god drat) loving russians and terrorists and SAS and oorah marines.

Yes that's right cod, you've progressed so far down the vaguely milsim future warfare oh wait its a dota clone heroes path that I now miss generic american marines.

Also Hans Zimmer, HGW and Stephen Barton. Best music, stingers, lobby ambience.

Unfortunately they're pretty well set on the Madden style of yearly releases now, what with three loving studios churning out clones based on IW's old work.

The constant tossing of old, good content is really loving annoying though.

Yeah, it was definitely better in BLOPS 1, where they went with a loose "4-square" layout, with more ways to cut across.

The wall running is a solution in search of a problem, and Treyarch's hamfisted Mario pits of death are just bad map design.
