I uploaded the new package. I recommend turning the gamma down to 30 at the highest to compensate for the brilliance of the white hot sands and the sun in the Great White. Set your gamma to like 30 or lower so you don't burn your eyes. Can this be replaced in the OP? Edit: void_serfer fucked around with this message at 08:30 on Sep 6, 2015 |

I really love the fact that vehicle parts aren't strictly linear "no brainer" upgrades. The fact that subsequent parts for things such as bumpers and armor actually have both pros and cons gives you a reason to still roll back on older pieces when you want to specialize in a certain type of vehicle. It makes the whole act of putting a car package together more satisfying because it isn't simply an exercise in slapping on the heaviest, most expensive pieces and calling it a day. On that subject, I sort of wish that the various car bodies played a role in the stats of a vehicle. Okay that's a totally rad pic of Chumbucket. The Heroic Shot:

So how do I use the Rockstar codes on PC? Punching them into Steam doesn't work, WBplay only has a toggle off/on option, and the DLC menu in game just opens up the Steam overlay. Also, I got the game on release day, supposedly as long as I bought it before the 7th I get the Ripper, but I see no Ripper. What did I gently caress up? It sounds like Avalanche may be working on something to fix this, though. As far as the Ripper goes, when I ordered the game from GMG, I got a key for the game and then, after the Ripper was officially released, a second key specifically for the vehicle body. I'm not sure where you preordered from but is it possible you have gotten a second key in your e-mail and haven't realized it? "Wait, hang on, lemme say somethin first..." The deadliest move of all

I just learned about the gutshot move probably almost at the end of the game and I can't really say its that useful after I figured out that this game wants you to aim your blocks and time your moves until the fury takes over. I also can't believe how easy Scrotus was in a fist fight compared to how lovely it was trying to chase down the big chief. He the most simple of the titan/big guy fights.

I got genuinely creeped-out this morning venturing into the church. I normally listen to music when I play, but my playlist had ended just as I went in, so it was just me and my headphones and all the sounds down there. Spooky. They did a really good job with the atmosphere in the game. The wide open areas in the early part of the game give a sense that you are vulnerable because you are highly visible to enemies from far away. Then you transition to canyons and hills that have surprises around every corner. Later you see more familiar signs of the former world like highway signs and old gas stations giving a feeling of loss. But the topper is as you get closer and closer to Gastown. The oppressive white and heat of the open desert feels liberating compared to the black sky with oil polluted land, giving an increasing feeling of dread. It's really feels like you are journeying to Mt. Doom.

That's the church in the desert for pinkeye right? yeah that's really well done, if a little HUGE for a church basement, I would have loved to have seen a little more of the buried old world down there to justify the size, like a half excavated "main street" or something. Similarly Gutgash send you to a Old metro station to scavenge for pre-collapse scrap and I was a little disappointed with how generic and plain it was, there was definitely a lot more room for dressing that particular area.

Man, I know the melee combat in this game is simple and a little derivative, but god drat if it isn't satisfying. It's so visceral. Last night I suplexed one Warboy into another, and killed a third by kicking him in the junk over and over again.

There are a lot of things that were great in the game, that captured much of the feel of Fury Road. The fighting, while simple, has Max do a wide variety of animations that are entertaining to watch (Haymaker one guy, drop kick another, sock a guy in the gut and suplex him, parry and headbutt the guy trying to hit you from behind, etc) But there were a lot of things that I kind of wished made it into the game as well: -While Warboys can hop off their vehicles and jump on yours mid-chase (cool!) you have no similar option. I wish there was an option for Max to tell Chumbucket to take the wheel, and leap off the Magnum Opus to try to hijack other vehicles. This would be particularly fun vs Scrapulous trucks and convoy trucks. Some people on Steam were talking about this- that it would have been really fun to have a mission/bossfight involve hopping from multiple cars in a War Party to get to the boss. -No motorcycles? While they included Buzzards (whose vehicles, to me, are particularly formidable since you have to practically dismantle them to get to the drivers) its too bad we didn't get Rock Riders, having these annoying guys on dirtbikes tossing firebombs at you when you're heading through choke points would be nice. -Absolutely love the vehicle combat, but there's little consequence to 'losing' in vehicle combat; worse case you gotta bail outta the Magnum Opus in 5 seconds. Then, you just roll dodge the 2 enemy cars until they get bored and hop out to engage you. So far, I haven't seen any way the Magnum Opus can blow up without you inside it. The only real 'risk' you face is staying alive the 20 seconds it takes Chumbucket to bring your car back to full health, and the only consequence really is time with having to repeat races or having convoy escorts cripple your car and escape. -I know the game takes place much to the south of where the Citadel is supposed to be located (Furiosa's journey in Fury Road had her initially heading south, then East, I think). I wished they included an Easter Egg where Furiosa and her War Rig were making a run to Gastown/Bullet Farm and you can try to engage them, only to have Furiosa and the Warboys be an absolute badass of course and wreck your poo poo if you try to get anywhere near her Rig. Alternatively, they could've had the game literally end right where Fury Road begins, where in New Game+ you get to the Plains of Silence (ie Powder Flats) and have a mission to basically survive a minimum X days against very persistent and dangerous war parties. Accomplish it, and inevitably get captured anyway of course, but it could unlock a jacket that's basically shirtless Max with the upside down wording on it, and a face skin with the muzzle.

in terms of Mad Max-ness, the complete absence of motorcycles is definitely the biggest flaw of the game, most of the movies are full of motorcycles doing cool poo poo - especially those dudes in Fury Road who do crazy jumps and drop firebombs on vehicles below - and I don't understand why they aren't in the game... but maybe a DLC or something can add them?Panfilo posted:-Absolutely love the vehicle combat, but there's little consequence to 'losing' in vehicle combat; worse case you gotta bail outta the Magnum Opus in 5 seconds. Yeah I've thought about this, but they probably didn't want to have the player get stuck way out in the middle of nowhere and have to spend hours on foot getting back to some place where they could get a new car, which would slow the game down a lot, plus they clearly only want you to have one "main" car. Kind of a similar problem in the Forza Horizon series where it's completely impossible to damage your car in such a way that you can't drive it back to the garage.
