In all the years since that movie has come out, I honestly think I've seen more pissing and moaning about old fans having meltdowns over it all than I have any actual meltdowns. Meanwhile, I've had people at work who know I'm a nerd come up to me and start talking about how crappy they feel new films are for many of the same reasons that get talked about in threads like these.

I made the mistake of reading a chapter of his autobiography once. He tried to make the case that we should feel sorry for those poor rapists that are being controlled by their hormones and brain chemicals into doing things that they never had a choice to resist. He's trash.

So I just saw the episode where Kira went to the mirror universe. It looked like the two Kiras were going to kiss but then they didn't and I'm not sure why. I thought maybe the special effects team couldn't figure out how to do it, but Double Impact came out in 1991 and that had two Van Dammes hug.

Evil Sexy Kira is probably the most consistently entertaining Star Trek character ever. She is so evil. And so sexy.

Hang on let me pause there to quote her from the previous Q episode, (When Q asks her how she knows he'll keep his word regarding Quinn and his permanent incarceration) "Based on my research you have been many things: a rude, interfering, inconsiderate, sadistic pest. And oh yes, you introduced us to the Borg. Thank you very much. But one thing you've never been is a liar." FLASHFORWARD ONE SEASON "You've tempted me with that prospect before, but frankly your credibility is more than a little suspect. My crew and I will get home, we're committed to that. But we're going to do it through hard work and determination. We are not looking for a quick fix."

Reading the commentary/behind-the-scenes on that episode, the one where Crusher falls in love with a Trill that comes back as a woman, and the one where Riker falls in love with the alien from the genderless planet, you learn that the casts of TNG and DS9 wanted to make Star Trek waaaaaaay gayer than the network would allow. At least we still have the outtakes with Stewart macking all over Frakes. Fake edit: the outtakes and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf9oD_xl8mI

I actually hated it when they had Sisko punch Q and Q was like "Picard never hit me!" and Sisko replies "I'm not Picard!". Lol if any mortal can land a punch on Q without him letting them do it. Would have been far better if Sisko swung but totally failed to connect thanks to Q magic and then Q is just like "Interesting, you tried to punch me. I doubt Picard would have ever lost his temper like that". Instead it jus takes the whole scene overall comical, not least because Q wad punching Sisko rather than just daring Sisko to punch him.

Q dials himself down a few notches before touching down on Federation property. He ramps it back up in an instant all the time to effect his magic, but for the talky bits he likes feeling a tiny smidgen like the greasy ape standing across from him whenever he taunts a vessel's captain. The punch was legit.

I'm pretty sure that even though this is true a punch wouldn't knock him over, if it did then he could get shot with a phaser.
