So I really want to run Poe with the following setup. Poe Dameron (31) -BB-8 (2) -Autothrusters (2) -Push the Limit (3) I have another 62 points to play with. I'm debating on putting a K-wing in, just because it's a new toy and I'd like to use it. But I also really have no idea what a good setup for the K-wing is. I'm pretty new to the game and mostly play Scum, so I don't know exactly what's best for Rebels. Especially so since my local meta is basically all Empire or Scum players.

I might have to change out my current tournament list of four BTL + Ion Y-Wings for four TLT Y-Wings. Although I love the Ion enough to make it two and two instead.

What's the name of the online vassal-esque sim that isn't Vassal? People were talking about it earlier this month, but I can't find the posts. v I think that's the one, thanks Big Mean Jerk fucked around with this message at 19:16 on Sep 10, 2015 |

Why the gently caress do Kyle and Tycho have Wired? Drop those and Deadeye, add PtL.

Strobe posted:Why the gently caress do Kyle and Tycho have Wired? Drop those and Deadeye, add PtL. What's wrong with Wired? I figured cause the Hwk gets stressed taking basically any GTFO maneuver so wired helps a little when you're running away from something. I agree with PTL on Tycho, I forgot about that somehow.

If you have Moldy Crow and Recon Specialist, you should have all the focus you can ever use. Wired only lets you reroll focus, so the end result is you're taking a 100% chance for a hit and turning it into a 75% chance for a hit.

Wired will let you reroll after you spend that focus. I think PtL+Wired is solid for Tycho or a Green Squadron pilot. Also lets you use an action for something besides focus if you need, and means that if Kyle is out of range or has to take a red maneuver you still have a benefit.

If you're not flying with a focus factory, is there any major disadvantage to running Tycho with PTL and Wired?
|
# ? Sep 10, 2015 20:01 |

Wired rerolls focus results, so I suppose you can elect to use it after you spend the focus, it'll just do nothing. It'd be okay on an A, as long as you have PtL.

No dude, you can reroll focus results later in the turn. Like, in case you are shot at more than once, or used it on offense, or roll focuses on offense but want to save the focus for defense. It's a pretty awesome 1 point EPT for A-Wings.

Haha that's my own fault I guess. Most of my thinking for X-Wing is asking the lines of how to inflict maximum pain on short notice, so I skip over uses like that.

Got initiative wrong (lower person picks, they're not automatically first) and didn't use Wedge's pilot ability when they shot at Fel turn 1, which is basically the only reason to use him. Also the lists are so disparate it's just kind of funny. One guy is flying a hardcore tournament list. The other just picked three random named ships and tossed a few upgrades on them.

Lochness_Hamster posted:So single T-70 and Tie/FO ships are coming out for WaveVII Nothing changed with that R2-D2. That is just the original core set card. I do like the integrated astromech upgrade not costing any points and being compatable with the old x-wings. Makes an astromech something to always take with your x-wings for a cheap hull upgrade. Especially nice to prevent a crit effect at a key time.

Yeah it's p bad. I think it was ~easy mode~ before the fix but it's perfectly fine now and not OP. There are finer points and you kinda do want to joust sometimes and do a k-turn and kite afterwards but I don't think new people should learn those first.

Even when they were dominant, they were not straightforward to fly(the turret is there so you can fly defensively and still shoot, but newbies tend not to fly defensively at all). People flying decimators straight into my list is why I won a tournament recently.

I don't like how Red Ace is higher PS than the Red Squadron Veteran and still doesn't have an EPT. That said, his ability is loving awesome and the T-70 is shaping up to be a defensive juggernaut among small base ships. Six native HP, one pilot who gets evades for taking damage, ability to take autothrusters, arc-dodge friendly build potentials, and abilities that synergize very well with shield regen astromechs. Poe with Autothrusters and R5-P9 and Red Ace with Autothrusters, Comm Relay, and R2-D2 are just stupid obnoxious levels of pain in the rear end to kill. Red Ace and Comm Relay in particular are loving hilarious, because in order to take damage you've probably already spent the evade token, which you will immediately get back and keep until you use it.
