The real fun of that poll is parts 68 on where their trustworthiness, domestic leadership, foreign leadership, and cares about me qualities are polled. Bernie beats Hillary by 24 for honesty and 7 for cares about me. Hillary wins domestic by 16 and foreign by 24.

A number of black/hispanic/other minorities have literally told me that it'd probably be for the best if we had a white president again because America is so loving racist they can't handle a black dude so as good a guy as he is, Obama can't really achieve anything solely due to his race. It's pretty hosed up.

To derail race chat, I want to say that the CNN kiddie table debate is probably going to be the last one. That means you get to see Santorum, Jindal, and Graham try to out-shriek each other to get up to 2% in the polls before the next debate while George Pataki stands there utterly dumbfounded. It's going to be incredible TV.

Jewel Repetition posted:Bernie "Black Lives Matter?" Sanders His attempts at tying institutional racism to economic disenfranchisement fell flat because he had no literacy whatsoever on racism. Sure, once he figured out that race was an issue, he made some positive changes, but much like a runner suffering a sprain off the blocks, he's struggling. It's textbook politicking tactics - answer the question you wish you were asked instead of the one you actually were asked, shift the conversation to where your strengths are. He's a Vermonter trying to converse about poo poo he's so far separated from in space and time. So he says "no, it's actually all about money and opportunity" like a garden variety Republican except he's talking about reversing wealth inequality rather than exacerbating it. I mean, now he's got people who can talk about race for him so it's been papered over, but wheeling out the "marched with MLK/goldwater girl" line has a sort of Streisand effect where it points out that it's all he's got when it comes to that conversation and he's literally commandeered African Americans to do the heavy lifting for him. Has the GOP establishment returned to loving Trump yet, and/or is he still way ahead of all the other potential GOP candidates in the polls? What is a realistic outcome of Trump being runaway popular with voters but not having the support of the RNC, electors, Koch Brothers, etc.? Is it even mechanically possible for him to be elected at that point?
