I've been using same couple cars in the career, so when I Goon-raced a bit last night I didn't have any cars. I ended up buying a few and using the default auto-tune. Looks like I'll spend some time later today building at least one car for each class. I did some Rivals yesterday too. I got some top ten times... even though there's only 30 people on the leaderboard. It still feels good. Ha.

Norns posted:None of that changes in faster cars. It's just requires faster reaction time. Leather Bear posted:Pretty much yea. I'd say racing faster cars is more fun because the tolerance for taking corners and balancing forces is much smaller. I enjoy the precision needed for a good lap. Zinjnok posted:All he said was in a race with fast cars that are evenly matched, maintaining momentum, apexing turns, making the best use of the track are still the most important things with the added challenge of needing faster reaction times. I'd be shocked if any experienced racer would deny that racing lines are very different at large speed differentials. You simply do not take a series of corners, which are separate corners with their own individual apexes at low speed, as you would when you're going much faster and the corners suddenly require more or less steering/braking inputs to become fast. i've always been a huge fan, Panda. If you need to shame me, then by all means; pile on.

No one is arguing about racing line. Of course it changes amongst a multitude of factors. The only point I'm making is that racing faster cars is much more unforgiving.

Personally i think the faster cars are easier to drive. I'm most at home with wings and slicks. I like the slow cars becuase i enjoy the challenge of body roll, skinny tires, and not having enough power to shift the weight to the rear on demand. vVv Obviously i've never driven a f1 car in real life (i drove a F2000 once, for 10 minutes), so i cant comment on its realism. But i'll try it and let you know vVv MattD1zzl3 fucked around with this message at 20:55 on Sep 12, 2015 |

Dr. Faustus posted:Leather Bear responded to my post to Norns. I'm not conflating the two people, but thank for translating. I'm not trying to shame you, just trying to clear up apparent confusion. You're the one who brought up racing lines, no one has disagreed with you about it or said they don't change. You're creating strawmen arguments. And I also know who made the original comment. I wasn't accusing you of mixing people up, I just didn't feel like multi-quoting. Prettypanda fucked around with this message at 20:58 on Sep 12, 2015 |

All I'm saying is reaction time isn't THE factor in being fast. It's the line you take. If you go slow, you take a conservative line in order to preserve momentum. If you go very fast, you take a different racing line. I never knew that was a controversial premise.

If they have too many hopper options, they're less likely to fill up their shiny new 24 car rooms I think this might change a little bit on Tuesday when the game is fully released and there's more people playing than the few that paid $100 for the ultimate edition. Also I can't wait for the people that have never played a Forza game to join the multiplayer hoppers on Tuesday and end up driving Nurburgring or La Mans at night...
