As someone with both a liberal arts and social science degree, I think the scientific method (and therefore modern science) is pretty much the best single thing that ever came from the humanities. Splatoon is art, powered by science, which is informed by philosophy. It's all good. Team Marie, though.

Randumb Thots posted:Basically what BattleMaster said. I love the pursuit of discovery. Science is cool and good, scientists are cool and good, but all the retards who treat science as some mystical totally-not-a-religion-you-guys and are real assholes about it will be on that team and I want nothing to do with them. Plus I'm a musician so that helps. I honestly have no earthly idea what you are even talking about here, but whatever it is, condemning all of science because of a few "retards" is a dangerous thing to do. I mentioned that I'm a scientist, right? I don't do research, but I am a scientist. You don't have to do research to contribute to scientific knowledge. Fair enough about you being a musician, though! I have no artistic aptitude whatsoever and I am often left in awe of people who do and the kinds of things they can create. Here's to us both contributing to our chosen teams!

Psychology is an infant science, and it's execution suffers a lot from the very special type of underfunding it gets, but it's definitely science, says the guy with three college degrees working in a factory. Or I mean, chemistry? That's just applied physics, get a real science!

One time in turf wars on Urchin Underpass I noticed there was basically no opposition all the way across the map. The enemy team had only really inked the low area right in front of their spawn. My team had spread out and inked basically the whole rest of the map before myself and a teammate got to that grate you can go under that looks onto that open area by their spawn. They were all in squid form, jumping up and down in the ink, making a bunch of plop sounds. All four of them. Just flopping around. It turns out one of them was named FlopWithMe, and that one had presumably gotten the rest to flop with him. My teammate and I paused, processing what we were seeing. This spontaneous act of community, rejecting the enforced paradigms of conflict in favor of the nonviolent joys of cooperation and communal expression, left us momentarily confused and unsure of our role in this world. Then I launched an ink strike. I'm a terrible person... Eiba fucked around with this message at 00:24 on Sep 14, 2015 |

Oh no doubt. My other major, and job, is computer science. Which isn't actually science but still "STEM", so close enough maybe? I'm just saying that those smug "retards", who don't even know what science really is and have nothing to do with real scientists or even real science-lovers, are the reason I chose my team since I could really go either way. But it's certainly not to indict anyone else who really does love science which is cool and good and awesome.

It's free for up to two server connections. Requires an account but it runs your session remotely so you don't need to keep it running on your phone and chewing up battery all the time.
