This is a pretty interesring poll, it at least slightly suggests that democrat-favoring women aren't likely to resist negative trends just due to the gender of the candidate or percieved Historic Moment. I wonder if theres a poll to gauge how many female democrats respond well to economically left policies compared to male democrats?

Wall Street is starting to get worried about Trump and Sanders. My favorite line: quote:"I don't know anyone who is a Donald Trump supporter. I don’t know anyone who knows anyone who is a Donald Trump supporter. They are like this huge mystery group,” the CEO said.

I have conflicted thoughts about the rise of Ben Carson in the polls. I originally thought he would flame out quickly but he's already managed to make some missteps without it having any effect on his poll numbers. On one hand he has no political experience and on paper you wouldn't think he would be able to make it far but on the other hand he's basically a nice, soft-spoken, polite man who's every bit as ideologically extreme as Ted Cruz. He kind of has the Walker effect going where if you don't pay attention to politics you're not going to have any idea just how odious his ideology is, compared to someone like Cruz who won't go 2 seconds without reminding you.

Especially since she'll likely lose or at least have to fight hard for Iowa and NH, and those have a huge impact of people's impressions at the start of the race. My reading of your posts was more like "once support is lost a candidate will regain little to none of it" rather than "some of that loss represents a persistent preference for another candidate."

Ben carson taking over the evangelical vote from Huckabee is fine by me, because Huckabee is absolutely disgusting and Carson isn't afraid to break from the party line when it comes to race issues. It's like voting Trump over Jeb/Walker in states where you can vote in both primaries; you dont want any of the three for prez over your real fave, but you still support them to push the party towards your ideals. I'd give Carson a vote over Huckabee.

Trump is pushing the anti-super PAC, anti-corporate rhetoric super hard in this speech right now. Obviously he's just as gently caress you got mine as any Republican but he's couching it in populism. I can really see how voters who would otherwise agree with a pro-worker platform but have been conditioned to hate unions and OMG SOCIALISM would be attracted to this guy. He's saying everything Bernie's been saying but in a bombastic smarmy rear end in a top hat fashion and it works.

LOL if you think we're getting mass deportations. Trump's lengthy immigration platform posted on his site is actually quite simple - a strong opening negotiation position in which he asks for literally everything. Clown's like Jeb! ask for almost nothing in the first place because they're pussies who pander, and because they're bought and paid for, and after negotiation he'll end up with what the GOP always gets - absolutely nothing. Non-criminals (other than their immigration crime) aren't getting deported. What we will get though is the real important stuff - curbing visa abuse, using e-verify, securing the border much better and being able to better screen future entrants and prevent unwanted entrants, etc. I can't wait for him to publish his economic/tax policy paper next. I'm hoping for some BIG cuts to marginal income tax rates balanced out by making taxation fairer and ending preferential treatment for wall-street, the same treatment Obama and the democrats have defended in order to hike our marginal income tax rates up again.
