Suu gave Papi the illusion of having arms and wearing a dress, which is basically the exact opposite of amputation porn. They should hint at amputation porn happening in the next episode, and then just show 30 minutes of Rachnera pointing at her numerous limbs while laughing at the viewer.

Let's finish the (current) main cast before the next episode: Comparative anatomy effortpost 6: friendly neighbourhood spider ma'am Your cat is upside-down. Not if it's rolling on its back as an adorable bear-trap, in that case it has temporarily put itself back in the correct orientation for all reasonable creatures. You see, animals in general (ignoring things like cnideria and choano-I-can't-spell-this) all develop from a fertilised egg is roughly the same way: with a gut on its dorsal side and a central nervous system nice and protected on its ventral side. These structures really are "the same" across different phyla, whatever their (and our) common ancestor looked like (a worm, give or take) it had these structures and it is from them that modern animals inherit this. ...only the chordates are upside-down. The just-so-story explanation for this is that some ancestral chordate (also a worm, give or take) started swimming upside-down for what I'm sure were perfectly good reasons at the time (some modern shrimp and catfish do this). Over time, the rest of the animal adapted to this odd habit and now we have a whole phylum of seemingly sensible animals built the wrong way up. Long story sort: if you connect a human head and torso to a spider neck in the "obvious" way the human part ends up facing backwards. That this doesn't happen suggests that either Rachnee's spine and gut cross-over at some point, or (more likely) that she's nothing much like a spider internally at all.* Now we'll deal with all the stuff you thought this post would be about : biology doesn't scale like that. There, I've said it, can we... oh, fine: from a purely mechanical perspective her legs are too thin for something as heavy as she looks, if they're built anything like an actual spider's. A spider's circulatory and respiratory systems wouldn't scale up that easily either, but it looks like she has a human heart and lungs (and presumably blood?), so whatevs. Something that's not often pointed out when discussing giant arthropods is growth: having to shed a semi-rigid exoskeleton every so often is probably more of a limit on how big these sorts of things can get than any argument about scaling. You also can't scale up a mouse to get an elephant. That said, how hard are Rachnee's black bits? We haven't really been given a good idea about that. Presumably the legs are pretty strong to hold her up, but that could be due to some internal structure. Rach's feet come to points, which seems singularly unhelpful for gecko-ing up walls as she seems to. Maybe there's something clever going on with adhesive webbing that we don't see... The "extra" eyes seem different to the "main" pair. That makes some sense, they're probably mostly for improving her peripheral vision and don't have as much brain dedicated to them. Uniform pointy teeth aren't very "spidery" (no teeth are...) and are mostly found in things like carnivorous fish and dolphins. What use they are to a creature that spins webs in unclear. Defence? She's probably mostly a carnivore, as she can't chew very well. Finally, silk. The stuff seems pretty strong, and she produces it much more quickly than I would expect of any natural creature. She must eat a lot of meat (or lentils) to get the back amino acids from which it's likely synthesised. Waifu plausibility rating: 3/10: secret DARPA waifu project. *I was also going to mention something about the Proto-/Deuterostome distinction, but I'm not enough of a real zoologist to know whether than means the human bit should also be at the other end.

Yeah, Rachne has both spider and human respiratory systems, and it's implied that she can sort of switch one off and rely entirely on the other, at least for a little while.

zombie lady makes me all squeamish i could not, in fact, sew somebody's boob back on that'd just wig me out for entirely non-undead related purposes. like, even normal-rear end human fingernails make me squirm when things go wrong with them, i couldn't handle someone a few sewing needles away from completely falling apart, so sorry zombina-san you seem like a cool person to hang out with but in general you should try to keep your stuff better attached, would suck for some random dog to run off with your foot
