peace walker is a lot easier when im not in the habit of hitting the left trigger to draw my pistol hitting left trigger unequips your item slot, so when you get shot in the face theres no ration there to save you just got to the AI thing after huey gets his worthless rear end thrown down the stairs ugh

Necronomoticon posted:thanks for the heads up. i'm seeing news outlets acting positively toward the game, but I'm not sure how of much of it is "this is a good game" versus destiny Stockholm syndrome. the fundamental plank of "shoot the same aliens over and over" hasn't gone away, what the expansion adds is progression systems that feel more rewarding and more frequently. so now it's a proper first-person/rpg hybrid instead of an fps with vague pretensions at being an rpg for example, in the old free roam areas there are a bunch of aliens and you shoot them in batches of a dozen at a time to grind up a rep counter until you get 1 loot drop, then repeat this forever. in the new free roam area there's a place where you shoot aliens in batches of a dozen at a time to grind up rep, but each batch is immediately followed by a loot drop, and there's ways to power up the batch and loot by investing resources. also the batches aren't just a crowd of cannon fodder, there are boss groups each with different gimmicks to deal with haveblue fucked around with this message at 21:51 on Sep 16, 2015 |

dragon enthusiast posted:it's the same thing have you played it yet? because this is pretty important the game is vastly improved but its up to you if yo uwant to plonk down the money but from everyone who is playing they are loving it (re: everyone: reddit and here) - i stopped after a couple months, just before dark below, came back for house of wolves when i heard about all the improvements being made and then they just put this out improving things even more its a great game if you need an engaging FPS on the console
