USA really not helping its case though, with 12 total penalties we can't really blame all those on George Clancy

It's been nice and sunny, the ball isn't slippery, the pitch looks decent. Should have been a lot more free-flowing than this. Could have said similar for France-Italy mind.

fallingdownjoe posted:I was introducing a Canadian colleague to rugby yesterday: her second game ever was the South Africa/Japan game. Jealous of having that for an introduction! Yeah that's a crazy game to get into rugby on. That said I can't whine myself, I've only seen a couple of games before seeing the Six Nations matches this year on the last matchday, and that was some absolutely crazy rugby with an insane amount of tries (esp in the France game)

EL BROMANCE posted:Such an easy team and fanbase to hate. Years ago now, possibly just before the 5 Nations became 6, Wales beat Ireland playing at Lansdowne. A while later, a very, very drunk Welshman came back to his hostel wherein I worked at the time. He was swaying and his eyelids weighed around ten stone apiece, near as I could tell. He made a bee-line to me and drunkenly apologised on behalf of Wales to me, representing Ireland, for the result. I told him it was alright "Sure, didn't we both beat England?" He nodded so hard he nearly brained himself on the counter and shook my hand to express his solidarity with my logic.

Irish coverage is sponsored by some arseholes who seem to have insisted on ad breaks between the anthems and kick-off. They even managed to miss some anthems yesterday because sponsored breaks. I suspect this may have a deleterious effect on the company in question.
