All the Force Friday merch was stuff from the first two teaser trailers (other than a couple new characters "revealed" through Lego minifigs or coloring book pages). There's gonna be more stuff in the film proper. The marketing was so strong that they were able to sell us an amazing amount of merchandise based off of a sum total of 2 minutes of footage.

I bought Poe's x-wing. I fell into the trap. Oh wait I also got an elite trooper speeder bike which wasn't in the trailer. Luckily I haven't opened it yet and might return it cuz it doesn't even have the distinctive biker helmet only a black stormtrooper wtf.

I only have canyoneyes for you
I've seen First Order Special Forces TIE toys, with a red stripe painted on. Those will surely show up in a future expansion along with the Black/orange T70s.

I expect that every named character who ever touches a lightsaber will end up as a named pilot in a new ship.

I think it'd be cool to have an Aces pack that had one TIE/FO and one T-70 both with alt paint and pilots.

I can't even think of a canon/EU alt paint scheme for the Bomber or Defender. With the Interceptor pack, I was at least familiar with the Royal Guard and 181st paint schemes.

They can easily use red markings like stripes and outlines since people have already associated that with the elite squadrons of both ground and naval troops.

The problem is that we have all the X-Wing-compatible Episode 7 ships already, except for that funky FO-Shuttle. That is, of course, unless there are ships in the movie which haven't been shown already - Which is unlikely, because hidden ships don't sell toys.

There are no TIE Bombers or B-Wings in the original trailers for 4-6, and only a brief glimpse of A-Wings and Interceptors, if you're paying attention. It'd be easy to miss the Y-Wings in the original Star Wars trailer or mistake them for closed s-foil X-Wings since you only really see them head-on. If I were a gambling man I'd place decent odds whatever space battle scene is near the end of the movie will have more ships.

The most important one if you're trying to fit it in a box is the length, i.e. 35cm, and it's kind of a pain to find a bag to put that box in. I've actually just cut open the sides of a big reusable shopping bag - one with a flat bottom with the right dimensions, but not able to stretch out around the almighty gut of the crate itself - and used eyelets and elastic cord to make a suitable carrier. Honestly kind of a pain, but fun too, and at least next time I'll be able to carry around all my X-wing stuff and camera tripod at the same time.

Welp, after much consideration I opted to just buy the FA core set contents sans the miniatures off ebay for less than half the rrp. I figure if I play a game with a squad that includes the new ships before the t70 and tie/fo expansions come out then I can just proxy with the t65 and tie/ln models in the meantime. The collector in me just want those drat cards, damage deck and dials.

Never underestimate the power of a simple darker/lighter grey/blue "alternate" paint scheme for Imperial starfighters, such as the one done to the TIE Advanced in the Raider box.

There's probably something vaguely apropos for the Defender somewhere, since they featured in the TIE Fighter game, where you're basically an elite loyalist who saves the Emperor's life in a coup/assassination attempt. And you join the "Inner Circle" throughout the game, and have a little club tattoo that gets fancier. For a bomber though, I dunno. Wasn't Scimitar Squadron supposed the be the elite bomber unit or some poo poo, which is why the Scimitar Assault bomber was named that?

Fake Edit: And yeah, Wookiepedia says Scimitar Squadron were the bomber pilots in Empire that hunted the Falcon and were at Endor as well. Probably all Legends material for the latter, but hey, they had actual screen time, technically!

Sounds awesome :allears:

This might be helpful (Yeah, I know you can probably google yourself but eh, it's probably useful to use the fonts to mock some stuff up)

A couple of FA cores arrived today, and I absolutely love what they have done with the rulebook being separate from the 'learn to play' booklet. Alphabetical order and everything! I had a question about obstacles and was able to find the answer in a couple of seconds; super convenient.

I also broke and picked up Most Wanted, so now I have a bunch of scum purchases to make... oops :v:

With Jonus with tracers, everyone has a decent chance of getting tl for their shot, plus 2 rerolls and a focus against low agility defender.

Major downside is the low PS. No way to get better pilots without sacrificing a lot of ordnance.

The TIE Fighter protagonist is Maarek Stele, who has a TIE Advanced pilot card. I think they should put him in a Defender as well.

I got this idea from someone in this thread and I've been trying it out and it's pretty fun

PILOTS

Guri (34)
StarViper (30), Decoy (2), Autothrusters (2)

Boba Fett (50)
Firespray-31 (39), Bodyguard (2), Seismic Charges (2), Recon Specialist (3), Ion Pulse Missiles (3), Munitions Failsafe (1)

Kaa’to Leeachos (16)
Z-95 Headhunter (15), Veteran Instincts (1)

It's been pretty fun so far but I think I need to replace the missles with something else as I never Target lock as if I want to take an Action with Boba Fett it's always Focus.

This would be awesome, and I'm kind of surprised it wasn't built into the game already. Heck, it shouldn't be hard to whip up house rules to allow it, although I can't comment on how badly it would screw up gameplay balance.

Let any pilot fly any ship (since the physical ship stats (weapons, evade, shields, etc) are static regardless of pilot, and the pilot carries with them their pilot skill # and special ability. Certain upgrade options would be locked to ship type. Ditto on certain actions.

And yeah I agree that putting Stele in anything other than the Defender is goofy, and ditto on Corran Horn in an E-wing (did he ever even fly one in the EU? I figured he went full-Jedi before they even came out).
