Re: story vs no story in Mario, I have no opinion. But after the previous game, I chuckled at the intro for Galaxy 2. It's essentially "Bowser is really big, get a move on! Do some Mario stuff!"

I really have to say the Skylanders Racing games just shows how stupid it is that Nintendo characters can't talk full sentences and just use chuckles, grunts, and saying their name as a means of conversation when everyone else around them can talk full on words. And it's not like Mario/Luigi/Wario/Waluigi VA can't do it, he voiced the main dragon in Skyrim so he's got some range.

I liked it in that old Mario comic where Peach was a hot-blooded ruler who has her own toad army, takes the fight to Bowser, rescues herself, and rescues Mario at one point. That was pretty cool.

I went to a museum of Le Petit Prince in Japan, so it might have influenced Rosalina's story. Also, having cutscenes in Galaxy meant they could use the full orchestra more.
