No, that's Mach 3, aka the Beetle, transformed into a black guy as a prank by the fixer. He is EXPERIENCING RACISM.

Those FF panels really take me back. My parents let me keep a box at a local comic shop and FF was one of the titles I got monthly during this time period and for a few years. Loved all those old issues from around that time.

Before I looked at this more closely that second panel had me thinking this was John Byrne's work, inked by someone mediocre.

Frankly though more than any of the other ludicrous poo poo there, I'm just surprised Wolverine used the term "mad on". I'm just trying to imagine a kid back then reading that and then asking his parents what it meant and it makes me laugh. TwoPair fucked around with this message at 23:45 on Sep 23, 2015 |

PURE ANIMAL INSTINCT WITHOUT PAUSE TO CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES still allows him time to make a pithy quip while he slices a dude's face apart, apparently.

I'm always a few months behind, because I get my comics via marvel unlimited, but I just got to this great Loki: Agent of Asgard cover, and it seemed to be begging to be animated, so I did. Also avatar sized, in case someone wants it:

This always makes me laugh. Why would the Thing, or anybody really, care if the Thing's face got slashed up? He's already supposed to be an ugly inhuman monster. It's similar to the Abomination, who at one time got dumped into toxic waste and who should have called himself Abominationer afterwards.

I guess there are probably special doctors who make crazy superhero biology their area of study. It's probably a lot of insane frontier-style guesswork. "Well you're mostly made of rocks so basically we're going to fill this up with spackle and hope for the best'. I always just assumed that Grimm was just rocks all the way through like some sort of golem, it's kind of weird to realize he's apparently full of twizzlers or whatever. Does Colossus turn to metal inside, or is it just his skin? I know Garokk tried to burn him alive and he didn't seem to worried about having his organs baked.

Dr Mid-Nite but the closest I can think of in Marvel is probably Moira MacTaggart (who's been dead for years at this point).

Beast is a (presumably unqualified) surgeon specialising in weird mutants. But like most of the "doctors" in Marvel he's a geneticist. Reed would probably be the best person to look at it, if he could make him stay on topic for more than 3 seconds.

Has Strange ever had to bust out emergency surgery tactics on a fallen superhero? He still knows more about internal medicine than most, even if he doesn't practice anymore. Seems as if he'd at least be brought in as a consult, in Things's case.

Consequently, at that point, no, Thing was staying the hell away from him.
