I wonder what that would do in 2016.... If what everyone saying is true about Trump's ground game in Iowa being horrible, that's going to be a rude awakening for him. And that poo poo is going to have a momentum, since voters in other states will see the returns from Iowa and New Hampshire and start coalescing around the eventual winner.

Is the recent news that The FBI has recovered Clinton's deleted e-mails from the server an accurate representation of events? I posted about a similar story a few weeks ago and and was able to get some technical background from other posters that work with IT. Is the story, as reported in the link above, accurate? Any caveats that I should be aware of? I was told that it would be virtually impossible to recover anything useful off the server.

As discussed when this was last brought up, whether the emails were recoverable depends on what happened after the delete command was sent. The traditional method of deleting files just tells the operating system that this space is okay to overwrite with new information -- like marking off an area on a graffiti'd wall for a new layer. If nobody comes around and spray-paints over the marked off area (writes data to the deleted region), the original information is still there hanging out to be recovered. If the server didn't see heavy usage, then it is certainly possible that the data was never written over.

Or his English could actually be pretty hard to understand? It's possible to say criticisms without being angry or implying the person is generally incompetent.

Go watch the video of Boehner meeting the pope. He shakes his hand like he's being introduced to a guy at a bus stop and then just plops down in his chair. He looks so tired.

There's something I was curious about (my apologies if this is a dumb question). I'm in the Seattle area and it is highly disruptive whenever a major leader visits, most recently the Chinese president who seemed to go all over the region during rush hour yesterday. There are similar problems on the roads with major closures with little warning when the president or Vice President visit. My question is, why aren't major visitors to cities that require shutting down highways during rush hour transported by helicopter instead? It seems like that would get them to their destination faster, and without the usual public resentment from delays. Are helicopters that much more dangerous, or are motorcades a protocol issue?

Motorcades are easier to defend from some lunatic taking pot shots at, I imagine. Worst comes to worst you can just flood a place with bodies to defend the person in question. There's precious few places to hide a VIP up in the air.
