Terrible question, incoming. For those of you educated on the practices of the Apple Store, I have an overly-loved 4s that I should probably consider trading in before the 4s support is dropped and they no longer accept it. Am I too late, or is that still a possibility? Does it have an average value or is it up to some sort of inspection, and what models are options when trading up?

They do it for store credit when you're buying a new phone. They will inspect it and you'll get hardly anything for it. I got about $175 for my 4S two years ago. They'll probably offer you 50 bucks or less. banana allergy fucked around with this message at 20:27 on Sep 24, 2015 |

gohmak posted:I have an AT&T 6S+ backordered till October 16 and a reservation at Apple at 8am. What are the chances that I can't get apple sales rep to sell me the phone on the AT&T uprade plan and cancel the AT&T order? For what it's worth, ALL orders through AT&T were given a placeholder ship date of Oct 16-23 (mine included). Just from painfully reading this thread on the AT&T forums, it seems that people are randomly getting shipment notifications, regardless of the time you placed your order. I'm guessing it has to do with the stock levels of the particular phone you ordered. So just because it says Oct 16 doesn't mean it won't actually be shipped earlier, even today. That thread is full of hilarity. People are getting SO upset that they may not get their precious telephone on day 1. My phone just got scanned by UPS at the distribution centre in my city so... Just wanted to rub it in. I'm as disappointed as everyone else by lack of OIS on the little phone though. I played with my friends 6 and I don't think I could handle the 6+. Oh well. If the sensor is better than my 5 in low light that's all I need. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

I don't want to detract from the shipping talk too much but my phone is being pretty weird. Whenever I scroll something and keep my finger on the screen, whatever I've been scrolling jerks up and down in a very glitchy manner. I've updated to the latest version of iOS9 but that didn't solve anything. Any ideas because it's super annoying?

Henrik Zetterberg posted:That thread is full of hilarity. People are getting SO upset that they may not get their precious telephone on day 1. I dunno. I bought the phone at 5am EDT before I left to do a track day and I haven't checked the order page until today. Between it "shipping in 2 to 3 weeks" with an ETA of Oct 9-13 and no option for a contract-less, SIM-less phone outside of choosing T-Mobile, I'm feeling a bit antsy over it. My refurb Nexus 5 had the power button hardware issue pop up today, and I was kind of hoping to see "yeah, your poo poo will be in the mail for next week". I have zero idea what the demographics or allotments are, but I would think that a 128GB, GSM, paid-in-full 6S+ would be easier to procure; however, it's not like I'm in a position to really change anything. I could swing by the fruit stand on the way home from work and see if I could get lucky and cancel the order, but I could think of better things to do with my time than going to a mall on a Friday evening for a cellphone. I'm the most concerned about my N5 bricking itself within the next 3 weeks. e: oh, I didn't realize that Apple opened up more avenues to pre-order a phone after the initial rush, that's neat. Here's my hope for tomorrow: Walk in at 9:15, check in with a specialist, stand in line for a bit. Have my phone type brought out to me, sign up for the iPhone Upgrade Program and pay the first $37 or so, then just swap SIMs and move along. I really don't wanna be there for awhile and no one seems to know jackshit about the iUP nor does Apple have a FAQ that actually answers questions about it.

It doesn't have a mold for a specific phone or anything so it works with any Lightning phone. My last dock from Monoprice was molded to specifically fit the iPhone 5, but the positive was that it didn't require a lightning cable. The Apple dock requires a lightning cable (not included). It's nice though and Lightning cables are affordable on the aforementioned Monoprice.

Was there a solution to the whole 0 byte iCloud backup problem? I haven't heard anyone talking about it but it's still happening for me. Also, I let my phone run dry over the last couple of days to see how low power mode after 20% works. It's a 5S. Got six hours of use and 36 hours of standby. strangely, it sat at 1% for a good four hours before dying totally.

lol I got to the Apple Store at like 8:30 or something. The dude there told me that they couldn't accept AT&T payments (I decided to go with Next and pay off one phone) so I had to go to the AT&T store. Cool, they have one in the mall. I get there, the dude is like "We have phones here, you can just get it here if you wanna" so I do exactly that after paying off the phone. Literally no line, store had 250 phones. It was a new "AT&T Experience" store which was realllllllly nice. Took some obvious cues from Apple but replaced steel with wood. Anyway, that's my store about how I left and returned to my house all within 30 minutes. e: Also, it's the Mall in Columbia, MD in case anyone is wondering.
