What if Boehner jumped into it?

I mean.. gently caress, why not? He hates the GOP at this point. Suddenly being number 2 to trumps hilarious number one by way of being the only thing slightly resembling a sane and reasonable candidate. Trump sincerely can't be allowed to win the nomination, and neither can nor should Carson. HP Chick is s non starter, and that leaves Christie, Graham, Paul and motherfucking Cruz.

Boehner could get the GOP nod. He really could.

I'd vote Boehner over Clinton.
I'd vote Biden over any GOP candidate.

Not a huge Sanders for president fan TBQH. I'd rather see a sea of Sandersesque Stars rise in the Senate... The head of the executive branch is a little too big league for anyone calling themselves a socialist, however.

Socialism was forever left at the kiddie table in the year of our lord nineteen hundred and ninety one.

Socialism, as understood by the public, (don't make me foot stomp this qualifier) is not popular with Americans.

Could it be? I dunno. In a world of completely rational actors behaving accordant to reason and logic? Maybe. Maybe it could.

But we're talking about Americans here. We're literally a dream factory that's fueled by pervasive subtle and not so subtle exploitation of as many other people as possible to grow our magical dream factory ever more powerful and efficient.

It's been this way for a long time, after all. We've only been locked into it semi permanently since the time we achieved Mutually Assured Destruction with our last true existential foreign threats.

Socialism collapses like.. Well like the loving Soviet Union when tasked to keep pace with a literal loving dream factory fueled by the widespread pervasive exploitation of as many individuals as possible.

And we're never gonna slow down, that's just not how we do these things. You all know I'm right, even if you don't like the conclusions that come from this truth.

Socialism isn't ready for prime time here in the U.S.

And that's okay. Socialism wouldn't have given us legends of the hidden temple, the Internet, or 1080p pornography at the tip of your fingers anywhere, anytime.

Sure maybe socialism would have solved the issue of homelessness and income inequalities and labor exploitation instead of making GBS threads out disposable silverware, Mountain Dew code Red, and personal computers.

But for my money, I'll take our way over true or practical socialism any day.

The most senior liberal officer I ever worked remotely closely with was Stan McChrystal. He was a big Clinton supporter, which I suppose explains some of the friction with Obama. But really the man just wasn't politically savvy at all, just one of our greatest operational commanders ever. That's the whole reason he never wanted to take SOCCOM, it wasn't an operational command. Same for Central Command. ISAF was, however, an operational command.

I was in the room when he said he'd never take the SOCCOM or CENTCOM jobs off hand before an ops Intel synch VTC. He wasn't kidding... This was near the end of the Bush era, after he had already elevated his previously 2 star command to a 3 star command. With him having that third star.

He had some pretty serious and thorough disdain for Patreaus.. Though I never heard him say that, just 3rd and 4th hand from O types that heard him speak way more freely in some of those meetings I wasn't at.

In reality McChrystal had no issue letting the force do literally anything needed operationally and then telling MNF-I or CENTCOM to suck a Dick if they didn't like it, saying essentially "we're here to loving kill Zarqawi and by God will. Shut the gently caress up and color."

That son of a bitch is good and dead, too. For the record.

It really is too bad how McChyrstal's tenure ended so unceremoniously considering everything that man gave and did for this country. But that's the cost of playing high stakes political poker and going all in with 7, 2 off suit before the flop. Which is essentially what our greatest modern general did, and it played out pretty predictably.

Only loving Curtis LeMay was less politically savvy than Stan McChrystal. Seriously.

There seems to be an inverse relationship between operational effectiveness and political savvy.

Shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

Don't be shocked if HillDawg brings him onboard sooner rather than later. Especially if Biden jumps in. I don't think anyone on earth wants to see Biden not be president more than Stan McChrystal. And Clinton could really use those national security chops on her team that he can bring., especially with ~1k new emails headed to the soon to be permanent subcommittee on Bengahzi. Him being PNG with the current White House is practically irrelevant already, doubly so if Diamond Joe jumps in.

I'd be surprised if he hasn't already given a max donation to her campaign. Seriously.

Then again, I have no idea how things changed for him after the very public very humiliating sacking. Maybe he's done with the DNC including Clinton or just politicians in general

I still think bringing him info the Climton camp is a net win, though.
