The hopping ones get weird when there's any sort of obstruction between them and you. Instead of simply landing near the obstruction at their normal jump range, they launch themselves clear across the room at top speed. It's hard to avoid that, but you should be ok as long as you stay moving tangentially to them.

Actually managed to finish my first ever run as The Lost; all the way through and finished The Chest. Although I got super lucky, managed somehow to get TWO dead cats, Guppy's Collar, and Guppy's Tail which gave me a whole lot of lives. As I got to ???, I was on my very last chance. Just the other route to get massively lucky on, then the boss rush...

i actually found boss rush a lot easier than doing the dark room.

dark room, i had gnawed leaf and moms toe, and just had to sit that in a corner letting mom's foot come down periodically to stomp the lamb.

I also had two dead cats AND a one-up when I beat the boss rush with the Lost, I think it's the only time I ever had 19 lives... still burned down to one or two beating ??? so it was surprisingly tense.

Boss Rush isn't so bad because you can duck over rocks to avoid almost everything. The only things really threatening are Bloat's, Fallen's and Monstro 2's lasers and Death's scythes

Red poops gently caress up my boss rushes because I always run into them. This may or may not be related to me being bad at this game.

Red poops are second only to spiders because gently caress spiders.

Alright so I grabbed the Godhead mod. Started a new save slot, first run with Isaac (who gets renamed by the mod) and everything went swimmingly, then the game crashed when I went into an angel room.

Game has never crashed on me before.

The mod comes with a challenge run, GOD MODE, I did that and noticed an annoying pattern: the modder made things "harder" by giving everything lots more health. And a few amazingly annoying enemies that are invincible half the time (or have SUPER high health with no health bar) and you can't tell when.

The mod does change up item rooms & store rooms in unique ways (trade keys for extra items) but some bosses are probably impossibly difficult without flight.

It annoys me how much of a deciding factor Flight is. Get flight and you get tons of extra items, invincible to ground acid/thorns. Kinda unbalanced.

Pyromaniac + Kamikaze is kind of silly.

If you get bomb changers, do they effect Kamikaze?

Challenges in the Savior Mod are pretty interesting. I start one, see a triple Sacrifice Dagger orbitals plus a knife... with Tiny Planet. Then I realize I'm playing as The Lost equivalent. With the Unicorn Horn and Holy Mantle. I found Unicorn Stomp in the boss rush, nabbed it and ran, it was a cakewalk from there. If only I could get Midas Touch too :v:

I added the Savior mod on top of God mode for more fun :V

I really like how the mods add more opportunities to buy things, and more $, this lets you customize your build & that is super cool. I love the guppy. Love it.

I ended up biting the bullet and removing the scaling enemy health from God Mode. I already went from a blank save to RPG on version 2.0 which had even higher health scaling than the current version so I don't feel too bad about it.

Most of the time the extra health isn't so bad but the challenges (of which only one has shops and only one has item rooms) are tedious as hell with it. Clearing the end bosses with The Lost when every one takes 100+ brimstone shots is also a huge pain in the rear end.

One interesting thing about removing the health scaling using the included files for it is that it makes The Fallen and The Adversary invisible for some reason.

I can imagine someone using a bomb to reach an iron chest and then burning through 2 keys on golden chests only to get half a red heart from it. :smith:

As far as unlucky goes, I had one game where my boss payouts had no stat upgrades, orbitals/familiars, or even HP from every boss in that run.

You know when you have like a ton of extra red hearts left on the floor in the first two floors and you still haven't found the secret rooms yet? That's when Kamikaze is good. Also if you have Pyromaniac.

I'll honestly take it over like half the spacebar items in the game.

This is what I wanted stacking multi-shot items to act like from the beginning. I don't care if my fire rate is poo poo. Shotguns in games are traditionally slow-firing when you only need one shot.

Yeah, the damage is bugged to do a lot less than it's supposed to, and Edmund claims that he fixed it. Well maybe. You never know with the updates to the game.
