Nostalgia themed to grab both old folks and antique-loving millenials, and latex body suits to grab the S&M crowd. Sounds like a marketing win to me!

I'm pretty sure you could get that NY Seltzer in the UK through the 80's, I remember the label. And yeah despite the posters that seem to have zero to do with the labels, it's really good stuff. 30s/40s style typography is back in a big way on beverage packaging, it's a terrible idea not to go with that, rather than dayglo generic hookers in an oversaturated Times Square.

I distinctly remember my grandfather having a garage fridge full of that stuff in about 1986. The weird foamy labels were fun to peel and pick.

Wow, I had no idea New York Seltzer was still a thing. Count me among the many goons in thread who drank way too much of it as a kid in the 80s. Like, my brother and I actually had T-shirts from them too much. Then I remember Clearly Canadian usurping the flavored seltzer market.

^^^ Oh Lord if Hallmark does a 50 Shades ornament I'll torch the building Hallmark has been producing media-related ornaments for a few decades. Oh sure, it used to all be Precious Moments or Peanuts, the sort of stuff an older relative buys for the children in the family every year as a tradition. But as those kids grew up all sorts of franchises started popping up: Barbie, Star Trek, Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel Comics, and so on. Even lifestyle type brands like Harley-Davidson have ornaments now. These days a lot of those are around $20+ a whack, "limited," and are released as 1-3 pieces a year in a "series," meaning to get every character or version one has to spend years collecting them. Seems to me this strings multiple generations along, ensuring customers at least come back every year and blow money on them in addition to cards, gift crap, and so forth. Plus my 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus is hella sweet.

Hyundai has a new commercial out where their Tucson driving rebel leaves work "on time" to the dismay of all of his co-workers. The time he boldly walks out the door? 6:01pm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ8Klm8vPlI Is this some kind of subliminal messaging from corporate America that leaving work at 6pm is normal? Daycare's start charging a dollar a minute if you pick your kids up after 6, so I can't be the only person who is booking for the door at 4. Heck, the song is called 9 to 5. Just seems odd, like the advertising agency is working it's ad writers so hard they think that leaving work at 6 is something to aspire to.

I usually arrive at work at around 8:30 and leave at 5. If you arrive late and take long lunch breaks it's possible six is your regular quitting hour. But even then, actually following your contract shouldn't make you a rebel unless you work for some horribly exploitative sweatshop company.
