Ugh I could only get the n3ds from Bestbuy here in Canada and they had no copies going to stores so I've been waiting all weekend for it to finally come in the mail. Can't find cards anywhere so far either.

I can confirm that Canadian Wal-Marts have the Amiibo cards. I'm a little disappointed that there's no way for me to walk around town and see people's houses that way, but it's a fun game. I don't know how long I'll be super into HHD like I am with New Leaf. I almost feel like some kind of grading system would be neat, so you can tell that they really love the house. As it stands right now it's easy to do an acceptable home by using the theme of the furniture they supply, but that'll get harder as the game progresses, I hope. I've been surprised by a few people - I thought Cyrano's tastes would be similar to his house in New Leaf. Instead it's... an odd numbers gallery? What?

If you need some external judgement, there's always posting them online and having people judge them. The difficulty also kind of ramps up when you have larger and larger public buildings to design, with more and more furniture to choose from.

I am so conflicted. I stopped playing this a long time ago, was taking a break for studying and saw the new game. I haven't been brave enough to buy it because I'm 99% certain I'll fail all my classes if I do.

This version of the game is easier to play in chunks without the perpetual time clock. I still like that in the regular game, but it was a little stressful if life got busy for a couple days and you'd come back to half your neighbors moving out. Now I can even put the game to sleep mid-project and come back to it.

I got a download code for Happy Home Designer off eBay, but I've been unable to actually DOWNLOAD the thing because my Internet has been down for the last day and a half.  It's back up now so I'm hoping to be able to dive into it tonight! Gonna design some adorable houses/buildings/cafés(?) The best part of Animal Crossing with none of the tedium, and a much better UI? Where do I sign?! Incidentally, is there an easy way to take/share screenshots of Happy Home Designer? Does it have a dedicated screenshot button like New Leaf has? I know I can just use Miiverse, but it takes awhile.

It has a dedicated screenshot button and a special POV camera for lower angle shots than the game camera allows. It also has a menu button to pull up Nintendo's page for uploading shots to FB, twitter, and tumblr. That sounds like ad copy, but it's true! Sharing pics is one of the best parts of AC and I want to see many adorable houses.

The first three packs of Amiibo cards I picked up yielded three of my favorite characters (Octavian, yesss), and then I just got Isabelle in my fourth. Super happy with my card-pack-selection powers so far.
