If you want to run Dash, I'd suggest pairing him with something more maneuverable than a B-Wing. If I saw one of those across the table I'd just rush the B-Wing with everything and kill it in a turn or two. 8 HP doesn't last long when it's the only target.

The point slotting and lack of 'bug out' speed is kind of the reason I don't think B wing aces are very good in general, despite some strong abilities.

Autoblaster is only range 1 and people will stay away from you if you use it: it is also overcosted for what it does. You can find the mango here and if you are just doing casuals, people usually print a sheet of their cards and proxy stuff they don't have.

If you aren't going to take the mango you might as well not take Numb which, yeah, is not super worth the points but still fun to play.

For those who haven't yet picked up Wave 7, there's a MassDrop going for one of each ship. Sitting at $60 plus shipping, but if enough people sign up, another $5 gets knocked off. Have a link!

I can't imagine needing a second ordinance-heavy fighter. In my experience, unless you're very skilled with bombs and the like, it's just not worth packing up two of them in the same list.

I actually have, but I'm never sure where to start. The last time I did mini painting it was still the 90s and I got my mom to shell out for a Warham paint box.

Which Vallejo range is best for X-wings?

I prefer VGC cuz it's more vibrant and fun but a lot of people go with VMC for the more subdued palette that's used for ships. They're all the same aside from air colors which are pre-thinned.

I would go with their Game Color, or Game Air if you don't want to manually thin paints/have an air brush already.

Speaking of, if I wanted to just add stripes here and there to my wangs should I bother priming and repainting or just paint over what is there? I can't see myself repainting entire squadrons but I don't know how well putting paint over FFG's paint will go.

It's usually fine. I even paint wholly new paint jobs over the factory paint cuz I'm lazy. You should be wary though. Some of the models or areas have slicker surfaces that aren't good for paint traction.

A kitted-out Dash is going to leave you room for 2 red squadron pilots, and probably no extra toys for them to have. Or you could take 2 green squadron pilots with the chardaan refit, autothrusters, and whatever EPTs you can squeeze in :getin:

e:
YT-2400 (Dash Rendar)
Wired
Outrider title
HLC
Nien Numb

Green squadron A-Wing x2:
Test pilot
VI
PtL
Autothrusters
Chardaan refit

Comes out to 100 exactly. Drop Nien, wired, or VI if you want to try and steal initiative.

They're pretty good naked- their best aspect is the dial by far. Survivability-wise, they're very close to Z-95s.

I've got a Summer Kit tournament tomorrow and I'm thinking of taking this:

Miranda Doni (29)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Extra Munitions (2)
Advanced Homing Missiles (3)
Chewbacca (4)
Seismic Charges (2)
Ion Bombs (2)
Advanced SLAM (2)
Corran Horn (35)
Push the Limit (3)
Fire-Control System (2)
Flechette Torpedoes (2)
R2-D2 (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Total: 100

Not a serious/top-tier/whatever list by any means, but I'd like to try my luck with ordinance, and Space Jesus is always a good pick as far as I'm concerned.

Admiral Joeslop

Finally won a game with someone besides my friend.

100 points
Dash Rendar [Push the Limit, Heavy Laser Cannon, Kyle Katarn, Outrider, Engine Upgrade] (58)
Miranda Doni [Twin Laser Turret, Recon Specialist, Shield Upgrade] (42)

Granted I faced a list of 4 M3-As, 2 with Manglers and 2 with HLC. He got Dash down to 1 hull left but I managed to arc dodge and get out of range fast enough that he couldn't get the last hull. He basically ignored Miranda after we had a bit of a tangle up in the middle and that was his major downfall. Miranda tears 3 HP ships up with ease.

I am sorry, but how does this work exactly? I assume you are using debris fields to activate Wired?
So this means in order to remain effective you would have to hit one every turn. Seems a bit inefficient as without debris you have no way of generating stress other than a K-turn. And even if you get the stress and want to keep it, you can't go straight or you clear with Nien, or if you turn, you lose the barrel roll action which is vital on Dash.

As has already been noted, the classic 58-Dash (PTL, HLC, Title, Kyle, Engine) leaves you just enough to run 2 rookies.
Problem being rookies aren't all that good right now.

I think I would rather try running the new hotness X-Wings with a Mangler Dash.
Something like:
2x Blue Novice w/ Autothrusters
Dash w/ VI, Mangler, Title
- That leaves you with 2 points free. Go for Merc Co-Pilot, IA or Nien.

This is my tactic, soon to be infinitely improved by the starwars soundboard app.

I picked up a Kihraxz the other day because I had forgotten I had ordered it. I was thinking about taking him as just a Black Sun Ace with Predator. Talonbane Cobra looks like he'd be quite shooty if he got into range 1 but he gets expensive quickly.

Blocking is the least advanced thing ever, it's just flying your low PS ships into the enemy's path in the hopes of causing them to bump. :v:

Also a good choice- I use 5 Zs as an escort for my Bosskinator and they're a big help against the easy-to-hit stuff because Bossk+Gunner+Tac is a setup geared toward gashing hard-to-hit things like interceptors. My older K4+HLC+Greedo is probably a better choice against things like decimators. Mixing the bosskinator with the Zs has been good to me so far. My only loss with this setup has been to a 104 point list from a guy who was playing some other missiles and probably quickly subbed in assault missiles when he saw what I got out. This person also took great pains to tell me about how casual he was.

People telling me how casual they are all game is a huge red flag. Oh well, i've played him in the first round of every tournament we're both in and I beat his rear end every time, causing much salt.
