I was dreading a sprint finish like all the pundits were predicting and it was great to see all three late breaks loving with that scenario. Really wanted Farrar to make it onto Libby Hill first for the party people, but Siustiu was not really able to help by that point. Sagan is really good for racing despite his inherent knuckleheadedness.

They put the route in the industrial part of town and all that metal and overhead train tracks wreaked havoc on the signal from the motos but they either didn't have the knowhow or skill to come up with something else. Also the Helicopter had a) times when it wasn't allowed overhead and b)not allowed over certain parts of the city so you had multiple minute long shots of houses with the occasional rider darting between them. Combine that with the guys running the static cameras utterly unable to focus on anything or point it in the right direction, and race directors that would cut away from an attack or something interesting like a technical to a potential winner and you get a terrible broadcast that reminds everyone that cycling is a 5th tier sport in the US.

They go by so fast and in such numbers that it really hard to pick out more than one or two at a time. You could always see Farrar's mullet from a mile away, but I was never close enough at the right time to catch him.

They should turn him into a classics beast. Wasn't he a TT junior world champ or something? edit: Close, but no cigar. From Wikipedia: "As a junior, he specialised in time trials, even winning a bronze medal in the World Championships for cyclists aged under 23."

It's actually for once a natural progression for sprinters, older the rider the less sprint they pack and the more they have to snipe wins through attacks. Happened to those he replaced and will happen to those who replace him. P sure he's done well this season, KBK, ToC wins, TDF stage and one of the joke sandpit tours GC at the start of the season.

Wilier doesn't make a womens' frame nor do they make one small enough to get her proper aero position on the bike. She did what she had to do to win regardless of the risk. Pretty baller move IMO. Now, if she had been 2nd or 3rd, she might be in the unemployment line...

Wilier, who if not for them could possibly mean that team would most likely not exist, now cant use any pictures of her winning that ITT title because its not one of their bikes. They also cannot say the world time trial champion won it on their bike. Trek can now say that their bikes are so good, that riders would rather ride them than a wilier. Since womens cycling teams are a knats bollock hair away from going under at the best of times, loving off your bike sponsor seems to be one of the stupider things you could possibly do. It will be interesting to see what happens to her next season.

I've never even heard of Wilier, do they even supply any of the World Tour teams? I can reel off nearly a dozen other brands off the top of my head - Specialised, Trek, BMC, Colnago, Scott, Avanti, Cannondale, plus gear companies like Shimano. At least as far as equipment sponsors go, if you don't make something suitable for the job, what's the point of the endorsement.
