I think those nitro last couple chapters may have over estimated those things that popped off of Acacia's back. They made mention about how that one would eat everything on the planet, but we have Bambina kneesploding one of them like it is nothing.

I hope the next 10 chapters alternate between cooking battles and the King fights. That would literally be one of the best periods of any Shonen in history.

As fun as the big crew of hero characters are, I've started to really enjoy seeing the insane world they live in more than the people themselves. You think you've reached peak crazy, yet at the top of the mountain is, inexplicably, an even bigger mountain. Nobody even said anything until the last two pages but it was just stuffed with cool things.

The Monkey King already cut that mountain down and threw it across to the world, and when it got back it was the size of a pebble.

Am I the only one who is totally lost in what's going on at the moment? We went from Yudo straight up murdering a dude to horrible behemoth monstrosity shooting demon frogs all over the place. Things suddenly feel really rushed like this series is working hard towards reaching it's end game. I half expect next chapter to open up with Nono standing over the corps of her adversary holding a bloody knife in her hands or something.

Given that everyone is going to all of the main course areas all at one instead of a big plodding journey to each area one by one with a special arc for each that Toriko may be getting the "wrap it up" signal.

Forest deer is kinda cool. It's an aircraft carrier that sends out monsters on its behalf. I hope it functions like a death star where if all the tie fighters are downed it still has a death ray. I'm starting to think the only reason bambina is "the strongest" is that it's the only 8 king that people can compare themselves to. It's human sized and has human-ish intelligence, whereas the other ones are pretty much just forces of nature. Rynder fucked around with this message at 15:30 on Oct 2, 2015 |

Also, I think Bambina is only the "strongest monkey", not the strongest of the eight kings, period. I thought it was always explicitly the battle wolf that claimed that title, though I could be mistaken. Shugojin posted:I like the how the critter has this "awwww god drat it" look. I don't know which is the most unlucky; the one dealing with Bambina is going to get the poo poo kicked out of it for a long time, the one that went to the ocean just got eaten immediately, and so on. The one dealing with the crow doesn't seem happy with its situation either, though its expression isn't focused on so much as the fact that if it doesn't move immediately the battle's over before it started.

I dunno this whole thing can go either of two ways; 1) that the weird acacia pimples beat or just barely lose against (and injuring the kings) just to show how powerful final form acaica will be, or 2) this is just an easy way for the author to showcase each king right now and they'll chump the pimples. I hope it's the latter.

I'm wondering if the next arc after this one is going to involve going into space to find the origin of gourmet cells/the Nitro's home planet or something. Or it could be wrapping up. ...I know which one I'm hoping for!

Has no one brought up the fact that if the Nitro's are correct in that you need to seal every cell of Neo in order to contain him, then the pimple that Jirou punched into space might be a problem?

MonsterEnvy posted:Battle Wolf is slightly stronger then Bambina. (Capture level 6090 vs 6000) Ah, I was misremembering then. Or remembering old stuff; early Toriko talked up Toriko and everything to do with him a lot, and that included the Battle Wolves. The whale being the strongest makes more sense, though. LanceKing2200 posted:Has no one brought up the fact that if the Nitro's are correct in that you need to seal every cell of Neo in order to contain him, then the pimple that Jirou punched into space might be a problem? Well, that would be interesting. Though the little things that all got sent off (particularly the one the whale ate, assume it doesn't just get digested and destroyed) would also be a problem there. Still, good catch, and I wouldn't be surprised it that turned out to be the case. Roland Jones fucked around with this message at 00:00 on Oct 3, 2015 |

I hope so too, but then again we got that huge time skip with Komatsu being recovered offscreen when we thought it was going to be the start of a big Naruto-style rescue arc, so who knows. The cooking stuff is something different from the typical battle fare though, and I like to see stuff like that to mix things up. The casino arc where they play the game against Livebearer was another highlight like that.
