I thought the 3D in MM was pretty bad, honestly. When it worked it was real nice, but more often than not it killed the framerate in a way that Ocarina 3D didn't so I stopped using it. You can test it yourself, go find a rock in Termina Field or something and blow it up with a bomb. There's a pretty obvious frame drop with 3D on that isn't there when it's off.

I read somewhere that the reason the Pokemon games perform like poo poo with the 3D on is that the Pokemon models used in battle scenes are actually really highly detailed so they'll hold up for a while. It takes a long time to model 700 creatures so they want to be able to reuse them for higher-definition games.

They've released a few updates that have genuinely improved things. The difference in usability between the new and old 3DS is huge, for me it went from a borderline unusable gimmick to a completely tolerable gimmick.

Weighing in on the 3D issue, Yokai Watch was the first game that made me feel like I really enjoyed seeing it in 3D. The attack effects during the special attacks especially looked pretty nice. One thing Level 5 knows how to do well is make things look pretty (too bad their monster design is crap).

Particularly the Trouple King's dances... they go from being cute to "holy poo poo." The attention to details with the 3D in it is great... they even upped the bar for Plague of Shadows.

Yeah, you can do it all on your own but you can only transfer locally with both systems present, so don't get rid of your old system until you have your new one.

Well sure, the game is only 30 bucks, but nintendo sold kirby for 35 bucks. Although, now that you got me looking at the list, nintendo does price their weirder titles at 30. like PaD Mario, NES Remix (on 3ds), and Mario Golf. I was excited for the new Chibi-Robo game when it looked like it might be a cool Umihara Kawase-style swinging game but the more they show/talk about it the more it seems like it's a laid-back collectathon game that doesn't really demand much in terms of platforming/action.

The AU/NZ release of Yokai Watch got pushed forward to December 5, which usually wouldn't be worth mentioning if not for the fact that the EU release is still "2016", so PAL people will probably be able to be able to import the AU version if they really want to play it early.

After not enjoying it as much on the WiiU, I re-purchased Shovel Knight on the 3DS, and I gotta say it is the superior experience. It feels so much more responsive and proper. The WiiU version always felt muddy to me, but this plays great!
