Valve is so rich that they can basically fart around doing whatever they want until the end of the time so they spend all their time loving around with VR and multiplayer and further gamifying the Steam platform because that what they're interested in now. Considering how now matter what Valve do they get poo poo for it (they get made fun of for taking too long to make Half-Life sequels but then the internet poo poo its pants with rage when L4D2 came out "only" a year after the original) I can't blame them for not really being interested in making sequels.

I think they just wanted to finish work on Source Engine 2 before they made a new Half-Life, and now they are probably working on some VR games.

Throughout the river part I keep thinking of a post about the mission that explained the easy way to do it (this post), but I was too lazy to look for it. And I had the stupid camp cleared out and anti-air radar destroyed and everything. Still got S rank but took an extra 20-30 minutes because I was going for no kills/no combat alerts ugh.

It doesn't help that Valve has no internal power structure, meaning people can work on literally whatever the gently caress they want, with zero people to tell them they gotta work on a certain thing. This is why Valve has the worst customer service, like, ever.

Also, I assume that they don't have accountants and cleaners who just do whatever they feel like. "Oh, sorry about the toilets, I decided I'd just do break rooms and vacuuming from now on."

Pretty much the only thing Valve cares about now these days is selling you overpriced virtual hats, keys, and gun skins in their free-to-play games.

Valve's refund service is actually really good, I thought for sure they'd refuse nearly every request since before they were perfectly happy to sell games that didn't work on modern systems without warning and refuse to issue refunds, but I requested two (RAGE had frame rate so bad as to be unplayable unless I put it on what as far as I can tell is the only other graphics setting, "we won't even bother loading textures," and Endless Legend crashed every time a new game finished loading) and I was notified that they'd been approved within two or three hours of putting the request in. Then you have to wait like 5 days to actually get your money back, even if you just want store credit, but hey.

Does google opinion rewards count as a game? Because it's certainly fun getting paid to put in lovely useless answers and it's a nice little thing that despite long periods of silence, presumably because of that, it occasionally forgets I'm a shitlord and pays me a little more.

I assume Valve's refund service is good because, from what I've read anyway, valve keeps their share of the money but the publishers lose out or something. It usually comes back to them anyway, especially since most people are probably picking steam credit. Anyway playing the English translation of Dragon Quest Monsters: Super light and I am loving these puns! "Dark King Up the Right Tree".

I just started The Secret World yesterday, and one neat thing I liked is that your character's name doesn't have to be unique. In character creation you pick a first name, a last name, and a nickname. The nickname has to be unique since it's an MMO, but the first and last name don't have to be. I like that I can give my character a normal-rear end name so the dialogue isn't all "Nice to meet you, xXBladeLord23Xx. I have news for you."

Shadowrun Hong Kong does something similar. You give your character both a call name and a real name, with NPCs using each depending on their relationship with you.

In MGSV you get side missions to capture animals, eventually you get ones for a legendary jackal and a legendary ibis. When you capture them you get a bunch of Zone of the Enders stuff, like emblem materials and the ability to develop the "Hand of Jehuty" which lets you grab guys from a distance.

Also, if you tell her you wanna change the name of the boat, if you go outside, you can notice that the new name has been quickly and shoddily painted over the old name.

Destiny's main story is kinda dry, but the fluff dialogue and NPC quips are pretty amusing. However one thing I love above all else is that how it's canon the players, Guardians, are immortal, loot obsessed assholes who don't take anything seriously. A lot of the background story makes mention of their..."independent" nature in lieu of any serious military structure, and that their leaders have been forced to dangle items and equipment over their heads to get them to focus. Even the PVP arenas are strategic areas for the various factions but the only way they can get Guardians near them is by turning the things into gladiatorial arenas that offer...items and equipment for victory.

Haha I love those surveys. When the California drought was starting to ramp up into "BIG PROBLEM" territory, I got a survey with the first question "Are you doing anything to conserve water?" My area (upstate NY) has lots of water, rivers and reservoirs out the rear end, so I hit 'No' and the rest of the survey had a distinct " Why not " vibe to it.

My fave MGSV moment is when you have to go recruit old mother base soldier, if you approach them normally it becomes a benny hill sequence, if you approach them in a box though they go "IS THAT YOU BOSS?" and it becomes trivial to recruit them.
