I have plenty of potential lotto tickets to drop, but I feel Dunbar's ceiling is probably close to what we saw last week. If Zenner, Cmike, or Quick look especially bad I can pick him back up maybe. I don't have bye week issues until after week 6, and don't see him cracking my lineup until then. Whereas if someone breaks out they might contribute immediately. It's a calculated moonshot admittedly.

Edited to add: Lance Dunbar has never scored a TD since entering the league.

I'm so confused by your decision, honestly. Even if you're in a standard scoring league, you're going to straight drop a guy who just put up 10 catches for 100 yards, who is on a team that lost their starting QB and only credible WR? He's averaged 7 catches and 70 yards a game, and that's including time where Dez and Romo were healthy; his usage should not really go down much now, right? Cowboys are going to lean hard on Randle and Dunbar. And drop him so you can stash Quick, who has been a healthy scratch so far this year and is on a putrid St. Louis team, or Christine Michael, whose e: real-life NFL value is a conditional 7th round pick and is 4th on the depth chart? I'd probably take Zenner over either of them, but I'd still take Dunbar over Zenner. There's stashing lotto tickets and then there's throwing away quality depth for a bench full of lotto tickets!

Rawls now becomes immediately relevant.

Goddamn it why did I drop Rawls :negative:

my thinking was "I'm not starting Rawls this week even if he does start. I'm not playing an opponent who is likely to pick him up. Lynch wont miss much time if any. might as well go for a lottery ticket guy like Brian Quick!"

If Lynch misses extended time I'll feel pretty dumb about it.

It seems like he's still listed as questionable though? I guess that's a positive sign?

Gonna hedge my bets with rawls with abdullah if lynch is a go. Tempted to just straight up start him as my rb2 instead of gurley in the league where I don't have Monday night players.

The fact that this is happening on a week that they have a Monday Night game makes it all that much more complicated. They wont update his status until Monday morning if I had to guess.

I always thought this was based on practice time during the week but Lynch hasn't practiced at all so apparently they can just make up whatever the gently caress they want

I'd go Abdullah over Gurley regardless. Isn't like the Cardinals are a soft match up or anything, and still don't know how much work Gurley is really going to get.

I didn't watch it and can't find a play by play right away, but I think Randle had 87 yards in his first three carries, then rushed 11 more times for a total of 0 yards.

Randle had his best game of the year and still left Cowboys' coaches wanting more. They had a 28-17 lead at halftime and needed their run game to win that game. And it failed them. I still doubt that they're content with this RBBC and expect them to tinker with it by involving CMike. He offers power on runs between the tackles that they're not getting out of their current trio.

There is some truth to that as CMike runs more North/South in the mold of Demarco than Randle offers. He started doing a lot more dancing behind the line

My teams better than my opponents, so I think I'm just gonna go with the safe 10-14 points instead of the possible 0-24 points.

Holy loving poo poo are we really talking about 4th string RB and special team specialist Zach Zenner again.

He's not even close to a special teams specialist. He didn't even play special teams during his "three consecutive 2000 yard seasons" frenzy. He had to learn how to play ST almost from scratch during camp, and the one nice ST tackle he had during preseason was enough to unseat actual special teams stud George Winn.

They kept him because he's a good runner. Joique is not a good runner (as I've been saying forever), and it makes sense that Zenner would be their Joique replacement more than the gadget guy.

Still would rather have Zo and Khiry in redraft but Zenner is worth a look in deep leagues. I wrote something about him a few months ago during his camp battle with Winn, gonna see if I can find that...

I would be beating the Zach Zenner drum right now if he didn't wind up behind Abdullah.

Three consecutive 2000-yard seasons (and two consecutive seasons with 25 TDs), SPARQ monster, low fumble rate, whip smart (premed with 3.87 GPA) and mature, hyper competitive and hardworking, decisive north-south running style, good hands, an all-in pass blocker, and lots of room for growth.

But again - Abdullah is a terror and it's improbable Zenner gets more than a handful of carries this year (he's even at risk of not even being active for games).

But if they try to sneak him through the practice squad and he gets poached, watch out.

NM, wrote up less than I remembered. Quoted Zenner history above from mid August.

From last night:

"However, sources not authorized to speak publicly said to not be surprised if Foster has at least a complementary role and makes his season debut against the Falcons if he’s able to convince coach Bill O’Brien that he’s ready. Foster has missed three games after undergoing groin surgery in August.

The Texans are shorthanded at running back without Foster because Jonathan Grimes was ruled out with a knee injury. Inside linebacker Akeem Dent (hamstring) and safety Lonnie Ballentine (arthroscopic knee surgery) were also ruled out."
