The issue is that, unfortunately, the problem with a lot of state and local DNC organizations won't or don't work together or share resources and information. So, the idea is that something open source could be made, thrown up on VPS hosting, and made available to DNC groups. However, I don't remember what kind of information was supposed to be made available through this app or how to get it - voter rolls I think... Fried Chicken was part of the original discussion. I should PM him...

Yeah, I think one of the bigger criticisms of OFA is how little they've integrated their structure into the DNC. I understand that something like OFA is rare but why they didn't work to develop this on a state or district level, I won't know. Oh wait. That requires the DNC to try and win in 50 states. It will be a long time before I forgive for getting rid of Dean and the 50 State strategy.

If the options are between opening fire on a hospital in self defense or taking casualties while retreating, I'd prefer our units get killed. It's far too easy to blame war crimes on the enemy rather than taking responsibility.

Field people were, like, emailed the login credentials the day of, their maps were outdated (and caused a bunch of folks to like hit up the same homes), and I'm pretty sure the thing wasn't redirecting network traffic correctly. It was well into the afternoon before it was half-useful, so they gave the Dems a several-hour running start. It's a completely textbook example of how the Republican is full of poo poo.
