i think the subs on those miyazaki .gifs are at least partially fake anyway, plus people have a weird tendency to totally misinterpret what japanese people say in interviews. like that one time he said something about how not enough animators these days look at real people to base their animation off of, but people interpreted that as saying everything's poo poo now. it's weird how this seemingly only happens to translated interviews with japanese people. like when smash bros was in development, whenever the director was interviewed people would interpret him as being really angry all the time for no reason.
