Seeing Matt Drudge's insufferable hat not escape unscathed brings a smile to my face, it's such a ludicrous detail. Do these people have selective amnesia when it comes to Gordon Liddy's past? At least Oliver North I can understand, heroically taking a fall for Saint Ronnie, but how does the incompetent henchman of Nixon get lionized by anyone?

If they're true, then he'll burn himself with an open flame, and eat parasite-infested vermin meat to prove his machismo. If they're lies, then he's willing to spread lies that he would do those things just so others think he's the paragon of manliness. Either way, that dude needs some help.

The Iron Rose posted:Well that's the idea, that he wouldn't change drone policy much if at all. I'm glad he clarified that, considering I was somewhat concerned he'd discontinue the practice altogether. So few changes to the Obama Administration policy, which is something I like? The best drone policy would be to get a Secretary of Defense who works to restructure the air force with the goal of getting more officers who have drone experience. From what I've read about the experience of drone pilots, the fact that so few officers have a solid grip on what is and isn't effective use of drones can be a major stumbling block. Of course, doing this would come across as super pro-drone and probably be a turn-off to Bernie's core supporters.

Christ, so that comic was even before Obama and his socialist cabal took over the one bastion of liberty amidst the oppression of the New World Order? Back when the neocons literally controlled Washington? Either it was really clumsy leftist satire or the conservative persecution complex -- and bizarre hero worship -- runs so much deeper than I thought (which was pretty loving deep). edit: quote:Oliver North: Blinded by an explosion, is FOIL’s military strategist who will undergo some extremely dramatic changes in the next issues. quote:the covert conservative underworld

When I first heard about Liberality, it was from a comic-reading friend delighted to tell m how it had enjoyed brief initial "mainstream" popularity from people thinking (reasonably imo) that it had to be satire, like the X-Presidents, or whatever Colbert's comic was called. Interviews with the author soon put paid to that notion. I just wish he'd been clever enough to take a few more pages from Judge Dredd and have the (anti?) heroes of the comic be "liberal" as well. I don't see our country's left as an insane Thatcher-level nightmare, but it'd be a trip to see a good comic from that perspective. Nyarai posted:Curse you, Public Opinion.
