Basically in order to actually get the most touted feature - the GPU that actually makes it 'so much faster' than a Mbook pro - starts at $1800 that's the price of a 13" mbook pro with 2.9ghz i5 (3.3ghz turbo) and 512gb ssd

That's apparently as flat as it can be

Wiggly Wayne DDS posted:$1900, also wtf is with that screen res it's a 3:2 aspect ratio, basically a 'feature' of the surface line every video I've seen of the book btw has the screen wobble at the slightest movement, lol

I'm assuming the Surface Popoid has a keyboard eject button controlling a physical locking mechanism because they haven't figured out to cope with surprise removal of PCI Express GPUs?

Thanks Ants posted:they could have just made a laptop but nope they cant be seen to do anything that might send the message that touch on a desktop os is dumb if it actually works as well as a normal laptop, then being able to convert to a tablet is actually cool. that is if (and it's a big if) it has decent battery life comparable to an ipad of course it may be a half rear end piece of poo poo like the original surface but that remains to be seen

someone will find a surface book keyboard without screen collecting dust in a closet, nobody knows what its for, can't even use it as a keyboard, it needs some kind of attachment but it's lost idk

the failure rate on the keyboard battery gpu thing is going to be obscenely high. bonus points if they charge separately or you can only charge one from the other and not whatever way round you want. also they pretty much did a clone of the unibody process video from like 7 years ago without a hint of irony
