Everyone in the Yankees rotation either spent time on the DL this year or is there currently. Tanaka probably is the best we have right now and he's throwing with a torn UCL. If Eovaldi hadn't gotten hurt I'd say he would have been the best bet to start this game, he's actually been really good since he changed the grip on his splitter.
