CDU are classical communists, BE are modern communists, and PAN is a green party.

Isn't PAN more of an animal rights party, which I see as distinct from green (and as much better + important)?

It's a common feature in european politics, it means gently caress-all. I'd rather have a good symbol not be sullied by politics.

It looks like five bucks was the suggested price and you can see how many jerks in each state were dragging it down by paying $.01 or something.

Nope, in fact fried chicken was independently invented* by the Scots (who make up a large part of the ancestry of the Southern US).

*Sidenote: it was independently invented in like four or five different regions because chickens are plentiful and fried stuff tastes good.

The last is the only one that actually uses the whole key.

I guess when the maps were active, you could see the popularity by media property (EDIT: and see where individual links were clicked, live), but since they took them down, you can't any more.

From what I can tell, it's probably counting the number of times bit.ly links to given media outlets were clicked, cross-referenced by state by geolocating the IPs that are following the links, so a lot of those BBC states are reporting people viewing the BBC News website, which has been one of the top 100 websites in the world for some time. (EDIT: And if they're just counting "bbc.co.uk", keep in mind that that would include the BBC Doctor Who website. And if they added "bbcamerica.com" to that, well, all the more reason)

There are a couple of other screenshots that show that the map appeared to evolve over time

But given the preference for PBS in Texas, for example, I think their calculations might have had a time horizon.
