IDK what you guys are on about but they made it very clear in the last season that one of the bin Ladens had all three cars and that he had offered to lend them to the boys for the head to head. It is exceedingly likely that that is where these cars came from and in my opinion makes the whole matchup that much cooler.

One small correction: Chris Harris pissed off Ferrari for saying they lend out ringers (Ferrari seems to be over it now) and most recently is banned by Lamborghini for pointing out that they handle like crap now and are basically jewelry.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. And possibly the old trio pissing off more manufacturers as the new season gets on if there's no bbc/british government reigning them in. I'm sure ferrari love Evans, and he hasn't annoyed US manufacturers or governments yet, or any other governments around the world like the old trio have. On the plus side, now the old trio aren't with the bbc, maybe they can go to Iran finally? E: Does anyone know if they are going to go for a new format, like skip the interviews/studio and do it topgear USA style and just have features/challenges only? That's probably the way to go if they don't want to upset manufacturers or talk too much. Fo3 fucked around with this message at 16:24 on Oct 9, 2015 |

If they could guarantee more viewers (and Prime members) from it, I'm sure Bezos would hand them a blank check for drat near anything.

I think this is pretty much how you find new in-demand Ferraris for sale. Almost everyone has a certain dollar figure over which they don't care if they get to buy a new car from Ferrari ever again.

Wow I'm amazed the use a helicopter to film on a track like that. Don't they need to worry about rotor wash and such when flying that close to the ground and buildings? Should make for a heck of a shot though!

I didn't mind the long unedited laps, it was interesting to see how the different cars handled the corners. But the driver's summary was home video stuff, a good example of why "scripted" television actually just means "prepared and thought through, not just ad lib babble".

I am secretly hoping that Amazon is going to build a perfect 1:1 copy of the Top Gear test track somewhere in the world so that all future lap times cam be easily compared to Top Gear's lap times. Also, don't have it at a airport, build the track from scratch without all that runway business so maybe May can find his way around the track for once.

That guy has lots of bad luck and is almost permanently broke because of it. In 1980 while in the lead he was wiped out by a rock on the track. Could only continue racing due to donations and ford backing. If not for donations, he never would have got back there to win in 1981. Later on his son drove for his team, was still always broke, and had to sack his own son because he needed sponsorship money. The sponsors didn't pan out anyway, he had to sell his old winning racecars to cover debt. E: Now he's teamed up with penske. Hopefully that means he can afford his retirement. That said, Mike Raymond, the commentator who usually spoke to Johnson was a great bloke and had the same dry sense of humour as him. The only other person who would be able to pull that off was the late great Barry Sheene. Sadly these days the commentators for the V8s are crap and there is no more in car conversations with the drivers
