I like the idea that Jerry is not just garbage, but he's a product of his environment. He's learned helplessness and is constantly discouraged by others, which leads to his insecurities and self-defeating personality, rather than just "lol Jerry sucks".

Yeah but one of the most cathartic moments of the season was Jerry getting gunned down for being the very turd burglar we've come to know.

I'm not sure how I feel about Earth joining the galactic federation. The show already addressed having sci-fi stuff on Earth by having the characters not really question it. But having Earth be "normal", I thought, provided a nice balance to the sci-fi. This show should also avoid becoming Futurama 2.0 and this sort of puts it closer to that.Scooter_McCabe posted:Yeah but one of the most cathartic moments of the season was Jerry getting gunned down for being the very turd burglar we've come to know. I'm probably in the minority, but I think there are a lot of moments when we're actually supposed to sympathize with Jerry, and this was one of them. They basically put him on the spot in an unfair lose-lose situation. I mean, we all would have done the same thing, right? (try to avoid losing our penis, not sticking it into a guy undergoing surgery)

(try to avoid losing our penis, not sticking it into a guy undergoing surgery) That's the thing about Jerry: he manages to come out of a completely sympathetic situation unsympatheticly. Not wanting to give up your penis, but being unwilling to admit that because giving it up is for a greater good? Sympathetic. Trying to force your wife to say no for you, then trying to publicly shame the person who's life who'd be saving? Unsympathetic. Feeling bad because the universe hates you? Sympathetic. Trying to gently caress an aliens heart during surgery? Unsympathetic. He's pathetic without inspiring pity because he's such a jerk to everyone around him.

I think they probably know better than to think Jerry even has a vague clue of how to get in contact with the galactic police. I think Rick gave them Jerry's name so they'd go easy on the family.

That seems like the sort of thing a lesser show would base an episode around, but knowing R&M they will get that out of the way in the pre-intro sequence. Like Jerry would take credit for it because he is getting praise from the federation, then the news will play the recording of the phone call leaving Jerry to stammer his way out of it.

What a beautiful age we live in, where the creators of a TV show can publicly and instantaneously respond to a fan one-on-one to tell him they're loving his mom. Imagine Alfred Hitchcock or Rod Serling doing that poo poo.

I think they should focus a bit on Mr Poopybutthole's painkiller addiction in S3. Maybe a post-credits clip of an A&E Intervention spoof....He seems to be looking better though. My prayers are with Bird Person's family. RIP. I dedicate this song to him, may he flap his wings and speak in monotone forever https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukmobha2krY

Is the Rock and Morty comic any good? I got the Ball Fondlers issue (and got it signed by the artist!) and I like that but is the rest of the series worth picking up?

Hitting the deer even? Did he have a moment to run back tot he ice cream place to convince them to go along with the plan? Why would they? (ok, i guess because they spent a shitload of money there somehow)
