Need more girl stuff, mostly animal toys because that's what I loved: Kitty Surprise - stuffed kitty had kittens. You didn't know how many kittens there were until you opened her up. Polly Pocket Treehouse, this was the only one I had but it was awesome because it had a trapdoor and a swing. Barbie Pet Doctor, I wanted to be a vet like Barbie so bad. 101 Dalmatian Dolls, I had the full set, and my friends did too. We played with them so much they turned brown/gray from dirt. The Dogz computer game. Not technically a toy but I loved these games, think they came out with a new one every year up until the 2000's.

I had that castle too. I would usually have that defending against the Cobra Parasite. I also had these two transforming playsets of the death star and millennium falcon. The falcon would just open and let you see the inside, but the death star had most of Tatooine. Both of these were for playing with the tiny Galoob star wars figures.

My old metal Thunderbirds Not sure what the pink guy is. It's not my picture. But see how the bottom of Thunderbird 4 (The yellow one) looks a bit scratched? That's almost certainly because when Blue Peter told you how to make your own Tracey Island, you'd use sandpaper for the beaches, including T4's hidden cove.

The rest sounded cool but a robot trying to imitate normal voice inflection was always slightly cool/creepy. And the tapes, drat those little dudes were great, and Soundwave had EIGHT total little minions he could dispatch at any time to gently caress your day up, each had their own special ability and it was rad as hell.

The best thing about ninja turtles were the knockoffs they inspired. Street Sharks The original 4. If you pressed down on their fins they would clamp down their jaws. Eventually they expanded the roster to things that weren't sharks at all (Moby Lick and Manta Man). Extreme Dinosaurs / Dinovengers These guys had a combined series with the Street Sharks and then had their own show. Biker Mice from Mars These had their own bikes that came separately because of course you're not gonna sell a kid a biker mouse and just hand him the bike that goes with that mouse for free. None of these shows made any goddamn sense besides, "Kids love manimals, and we love selling kids stupid poo poo."

Aesop Poprock posted:You could just post pretty much all the GI Joe vehicles and playsets. I had a ton of the action figures but none of the awesome bigger toys to go with them, and one of my mom's rich friends son had all of them and would never let me play with them. That was some bullshit Yea, though I managed to get some of the bigger stuff like The Cobra Mamba http://i.imgur.com/ByCg2wX.jpg Sadly, the chopper blades broke so i Just pretended it was some kind of jet The Cobra Hammerhead http://i.imgur.com/7aRkVrb.jpg Not nearly as cool as the Bug, but still big an impressive, and yes it did float! And the Thunder Clap http://i.imgur.com/FmXB7vk.jpg The best thing is it had an eject mechanism that was exactly like a bolt action rifle on it. There were lots I never got, like the Terrordrome and the big mobile base and shuttle sets. I had tons of the figures though. I think there was a point where i had every single one from every year. The figures where really cheap like 2bux so it was easy to get my mom to buy me one every time we went to the mall, and of course grandparents would shower me with what ever ones i wanted. The funny thing, the very first GI Joe I owned was the origonal Snake Eyes, which is worth a ton these days. I was nuts for any 3.5" figure, because they would fit inside each other vehicles, So the Joe's could hang out on the Falcon and stuff. One that was short lived but super cool was StarCom. The figures all had magnets on their boots so they could cling to parts of the vehicles and the vehicles had wind up actions so you could do something like wind up a ground vehicle put it in the bay on the ship, and the ship when it opened the bay, it would shoot out. http://i.imgur.com/g8tD6Oa.jpg I had so many MUSCLEs because again, they were cheap and you could get a lot of them for not much. I think there was a set that was like $10 that come with 20 or something. I always wondered what their origins where, like did a company buy up a bunch of random Japanese figures and sell them all together? These days they make me think of something you'd win in a gatchabon machine. They were all so random they had to be from multiple sources.

We had this when I was a kid. It took so long to spread out on the dining room table, and then set up the fielders, and the ball bearing would invariably go missing, and you couldn't do any proper shots. But it was still ace.

bulletsponge13 posted:I grew up kinda poor, and when a local big toy store went out of business, my Mom got me every Starcom thing and gave it to me on Christmas. I think they only ever had one series, unlike Transformers or Gi Joe, so there was one release, and that was it. According to Wikipedia, the TV show was cancled after a season and even though the toys sold well its first year, they were discontinued after 2. They were popular in Asia and Europe, and were rereleased with the US markings removed and the characters localized. Another toy that was super cool but short lived was Air Raiders. Had a real Dune feeling to it Look at this, it might as well be the Harkonnen's the Fremen fighting http://i.imgur.com/yObkOKK.jpg The plot was some planet where air was rationed or some crap. The cool feature of the toys was they had air launched missiles. I had this one http://i.imgur.com/yFr6QDV.jpg When you squeezed the disk at the back, the missiles would shoot out. They were made of soft rubber so they couldn't hurt, but they'd fly pretty far. The interesting thing the figures were pretty small and simple,. so they could make insane pieces like this http://i.imgur.com/d8P3Bwl.jpg Weird, there is no wikipedia article about it. Another gimmick toy was Visionaries, Knights of the magical light! http://i.imgur.com/cP68IgD.jpg They had vague Arthurian feel to them, but their gimmick was the holograms on their banners and cuirass. Another thing is they were big, bigger than most other figures. At least 2.5 times taller than a Gi joe. Man I just love action figures, I always have and always will. I have an embarassingly large amount of them bought in the last 20 years. Most are Star Wars, I have some LOTR ones, some more modern like a Marvel Legends Captain Marvel and Tali from Mass Effect, but nothing will beat a good old classic 3.5 incher. Speaking of those, I wish I had more of the Secret Wars figures I had as a kid. http://i.imgur.com/WWDUZ25.jpg I had Magneto, Black Suit Spiderman, Cap, Wolverine and iron Man, I still have my Magneto, but he was all chewed up by the lawn mower some 80s summer day. Oh I almost forgot, remember how there were Gi Joes based on real people? Like Sergeant Slaughter? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QN1MP-QFcg Best thing he he voiced himself in the show. There was also The Fridge, who's weapon was a mace made out of a football. I don't know about that one According to Wikipedia, Larry Hama was the basis for Tunnel Rat (he created the 80s Gi joe out of ideas he had for a new SHIELD comic), and some weird ones like Stephen Kings son was made into a character. Whoa, there was a Roddy Piper Gi Joe? Why am I just hearing about this 30 years too late?

As for the homoerotic poo poo, all these toys were shirtless muscley manimals targeted at boys. The 90's was the point of origin for a lot furries.

I also had major iteration of the Game Boy, but the best design ever was the superior Game Boy Advance SP. ^ Aw man Also, I really wanted one of those awesome race tracks with the loops that were in commercials all the time and never got one. Speaking of Hot Wheels, the only one I remember off the top of my head as having was the toilet car: I still have a couple of pretty awesome ones that I took a pic of, as well as a few other 90s things I found with it: The tube with the lizard used to be filled with blue slime but it evaporated over time I guess. I had some cool dinosaurs but I think they were just generic dino toys. I used to make my Barbies ride the larger ones around. edit: Holy crap, I forgot about Tech Deck/mini skateboards!
