Yea, I'm sitting here as a level 42 Shadow with 327155 / 267925 xp on my bar. I suppose I'll wander around a new planet and see if discovery xp will just rollover me to my new level.

Wow think I got the luckiest Hypercrate ever...all the chest pieces, every decoration, the Akk Dog, and the Log. No mounts though.

So, I jumped back into this game for the new patch after not playing for a while, and...wow, Flashpoints. So, it seems like you can only do Tacticals while leveling now? And all the gear that drops is synced for a way higher level so...can you still get gear from them at low levels? I have fond memories of running Hammer Station for gear on Balmorra and stuff. That said, they seem to give a ton more EXP now. I got 2 levels off of one. Also love the new companion system. So much easier to do their quests.

Actually it could just be that the scaling on presence is kind of .. weird. I've got some bonus presence from a level 50 human and some companions fully done, and as a level 8 JK my buddy has 4k health and somewhere around double my damage.

My Vette is now healing for like 2k HPS at level 35 and doing a lot of damage, i drove into republic camp by accident and got blasted by those camp sentries and she still kept me alive somehow, it's crazy. E: and she has like 17k hp and I've 7k.

The companions are loving insanely powerful if you've got high presence. I'm doing the SoR prelude FPs and they are 10x easier then they used to be.

So my patcher got fully downloaded and installed and I started the game. Got in and the in-game download thing was sitting at 0% so I couldn't log in with any character. Didn't move after 5~ minutes so I restarted it. Now every time I log in the patcher disappears and the game never starts.

NOOOOOOOO what the fuuuuuck!!! Kira can't use a single-bladed lightsaber anymore! This really, really bothers me. Like a lot more than it should. That's one of my favorite characters that I'm not even going to bother leveling to 65 in the near future. WHY god drat it? This is exactly the wrong loving thing to do right now, when companion gear supposedly no longer matters! Why the gently caress is this happening? Flag on the play! Bad move! BAAAAD MOOOOOVE!

Like I said before, it's been possible (and totally viable) since early beta, up until just now. All the companions with saberstaffs could always equip normal lightsabers instead and do just as well.

Dear Bioware, Though now that I think about it, sarcasm aside, it does seem odd that they would make companion weapons more restrictive instead of less, since they're all now just blank templates of destruction that you dress up to look however you want. Why not open up the cosmetic options for weapons, too? Probably the hero engine's fault

The best part, for me, is that tank companions no longer suck rear end. Their self-heals are actually good and they have great absorb shields and an AOE grapple/taunt move. No more having to dismiss/re-summon them after every goddamn battle.

I'm genuinely pleased about a lot of the changes and looking forward to digging into the new story, but wow this is off to a bogus start.

That's just one of the things at stake here... On the flipside, it's extremely awesome that all that "devoted allies" companion gear can be worn by players now. It's actually an upgrade over Ziost gear in many cases, and you can pass it around to alts from 55 on up! That will definitely make an impact!
