I like that companion gifts seem to be dropping at a much higher rate than before. That or I'm getting impressively lucky. For some reason, there are some quest weapon rewards, and weapons out of the blue crates on heroic missions that require the hutt cartel expansion, which seems a bit odd. I guess it doesn't matter for me in a week or so, but it is a bit jarring.

Been looking through the official forums while at work, and two notes for those interested in same-sex romance stuff in KOTFE: the new male companion you meet early on can be flirted with by either gender, as can the second female companion you pick up. Though I'll be surprised if the latter can potentially lead anywhere due to the nature of the character in question.

43 mail messages on new characters...you'd think the titles, pets, and comms could be automated at this point.

Annnnd I've now officially reached the point where some obviously superior mainhands (albeit green ones) are dropping off the KOTFE chapters but I wanna keep using my totally-awesome Kingpin's Pistol. The laser sight is SO COOL in cutscenes where I point my gun at things. Also hah, I'm pretty sure I just found Bioware's method of accommodating new Level 60 players who may not have had the funds to buy a speeder; it's a exploration quest where you backtrack a short ways through a swamp, collecting speeder parts until you're able to salvage together the basic Taxi speeder bike, which you get as a quest reward. It's a good QoL addition.

So far I'm pretty bored with the new method of playing this game. I'm only a few chapters in but every one of them so far felt like I was just confined to a hallway and forced to kill trash until I got to watch another cutscene. Just felt like busy work, especially given the enemies were of no challenge at all.

I've spent most of my time putting pants back on my companions. I can accept the weapons changes, but what annoys me is that I'm left with companions who have no weapon until I go to the fleet and buy one. Should've at least stuck a basic boring one in inventory to replace the one that's no longer usable. Also I can finally make Aric Jorgan useful by appointing him as my tank, and my knight can stash T7 in the drat cargo hold.

Zotix posted:I tried looking in the OP, how do I join the guild and what voice comm is used? From the 2nd post - Guild Information - Goons are currently most active on the Jedi Covenant server. We have two guilds - the primary guild is That's No Goon, on Imperial side. Our Republic guild is Goon Squad. Our guild leader is Nipponophile, who plays Final Fantasy XIV a lot but occasionally logs on to send us all words of encouragement or to steal Crate-O-Matics. We currently do mostly "Fun raids" but will likely try to form a "regular" raid group when Knights of the Fallen Empire launches. To get invited, do a search in game for “That's No Goon”, and filter by guild name. Contact whoever shows up and ask them to invite you, if they can't, they'll let someone who can know. There is an old Enjin site for That’s No Goon – don’t bother applying on it because it’s no longer monitored. Here are some helpful images:

It is a party and you are definitely invited. Interestingly they changed the leveling commendation mods to green rarity and removed all the equipment sellers. On the other hand, stronger buddies so far have let me go to the 2-man weekly heroic things for the gear/comms. Might be saving up a larger pile of them for hitting max level, while upgrading equipment only when I can't find a replacement after a while.

You stop being invincible when you have a companion, but there are no challenging pulls or anything. Of course I'm in former companion 192 gear so who knows what it's like in lesser stuff.

In regards to sub rewards: I havent got the swoop bike, but I was subbed from beginning of October onwards. Is there some bug at the moment? or do i need to bitch at Bioware to get them to mail it to me? Or am I being really dumb and I need to claim it from the cartel market or its already on my account hidden in a menu somewhere?

Are you in early access? Rewards don't unlock until you get into KotFE. If you've only been subbed since October you're gonna have to wait a week.

Some observations while messing around on not-60 alts. 1) 2) The Shadow of Revan intro quests don't actually give moddable gear anymore, and it's all green as well. You still get the pick of devoted allies weapons for finishing the prelude, and since the captain can equip those directly now that at least solves one gear concern. I'm kind of curious about how leveling from scratch is now looking at those changes, but hopefully it's not too crippling. arisu posted:Class quest exp seems to be way lower than 6x. Based on what the previous guy was observing, and what I seem to be getting on my sword-man, is that doing the class quest and main planet quest gets you enough xp to keep up with what you're expected to be at. I don't know if they adjusted required xp, or xp from quests, or what all, but I haven't had to do any side quests, which is pretty much what they said. @asimo: so far it has been pretty painless. Companions have a pretty big power boost, I'm fairly sure that 0 affection has to be at least equivalent to all green gear, while before you probably didn't have all slots filled or gear up to date. I'm running my buddy in dps most of the time, I've swapped him to heals for some bosses or hard pulls in the heroic(2)s I've been solo'ing. Oh yeah! Another nice QOL change I don't think I've seen anyone mention: ground targeted AoE guides are actually the same size as the AoE radius now rather than a generic-sized circle. This is really noticeable for large AoEs like Suppressing Fire or Force Quake.
