To the contrary, Rubio is in double-digits now, so safety through obscurity no longer applies. His sole hope is to not make any quick movements, and that Carson occupies Trump long enough.

Trump is not attacking Carson and then having Trump/Carson account for 50% of voting with everyone else <15% sucks the air out of the room for the establishment. Eventually if things keep going how they're going, someone is going to need to start attacking Carson because Trump attacks aren't going anywhere. You can't claim you're a favorite to win the election if you continue polling <15% and you're into the primary season.

He could knock down Rubio down a few notches by portraying him as someone who isn't ready for prime time. Trump has the ability to hone in on his opponents weaknesses and point them out as bluntly as possible and the base listens. "Low energy" stuck to Bush and hasn't gone away. Rubio is better at playing the political game than Bush is, but the moment he gets painted as some weak, ineffectual, nervous little boy with dry mouth by Trump, it's going to stick.

Earlier this week, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called on the FDA to speed copycat versions of the now-notorious toxoplasmosis med Daraprim to market. Now, a compounding pharmacy has stepped up with its own alternative to the med--at about $1 per pill, a tiny fraction of the cost of Turing Pharmaceuticals' brand, which runs $750 per tablet after a widely publicized 5000%-plus price increase.

So bombing AQ bases isn't taking their threat seriously, but somehow admonishing the president for bombing AQ bases because it distracts people from the bullshit impeachment proceedings is?

They didn't really share information like they do now, but yeah.

Two CIA analysts involved in preparing this briefing article believed it represented an opportunity to communicate their view that the threat of a Bin Ladin attack in the United States remained both current and serious. It was the 36th PDB item briefed so far that year that related to Bin Ladin or al Qaeda, and the first devoted to the possibility of an attack in the United States.
