I haven't dived more then 10 pages in, I have to study other things first, but I am ready to jump head first into trying this. Exalted has always been my favorite game, with all its faults, its still a crazy cool world. Hmm, I'll think about GMing. A bit busy with schoolwork this week, but I think I can manage. Probably will use roll20.

Its going to take me sometime as well as I am studying at the moment too. Only got a few hours a night to dedicate to reading this tome. EDIT: I will also join and be chill whether GMing or playing. EDIT2: I didn't see the bottom bear, I laughed hard. Jesus, that bear-rip.

from here: "Holden: I have the first-round layout files now, and holy poo poo, now I understand why designing and implementing layout took several months. You will too, when you see it. Rich and Maria outdid themselves, beyond my wildest and most fevered ambitions and imaginings. This is a) gorgeous and b) easily the most elaborately-designed book to ever bear the White Wolf imprint. Going to drop everything else this week to get corrections back so you guys can get this as soon as possible. Holy poo poo."

Bardlebee posted:Some of the art is super serious western art, then you have pieces completely anime. Just pick one. :/ I like the mishmash of art styles generally (except for the literal poser art, which I thought people was just people being hyperbolic at first because what? what???!). Squashing together anime and western art is a pretty accurate representation of Exalted. I especially like the drawing of the statue of the Unconquered Sun as Magitech Caesar, that was a nice touch.

Yeah the statue of Sol Invictus (remember: never call Him that!) is right up there with the Scarlet Empire Parade or whatever. Great, breathtaking stuff. Also Wu Jian blew past what I had imagined. Also every piece depicting the Abyssals was good to amazing but we'd already seen the best one of those. Though none of it is quite as incredible as Strawmaiden Dorothy's full page splash, which I think is still the best the line has produced.

Some (but not all) of the mortal entries were cut, the Sidereal Benefactor entry is no longer present, but all the really interesting stuff (i.e. gods, demons, exalts, familiar-animals with their unique stuff, Mist the Revolutionary etc.) are still there.

Only one I've noticed as of now is that the Gold Faction Sidereal has gone the way of the dodo and that the Bronze Faction assassin has a different charm set and weapon; he's got a powerbow, Generalized Ammunition Technique, and no Metal Storm.

It's not like they went and made a new Incarnae and really messed with things. They sound like exalts that are like "Hey these guys are a thing sometimes, its cute" so I am cool with that. They do sound very interesting, I wouldn't mind playing some Nightmare Before Christmas Exalted.

PbP + GDocs, easily. Exalted is a game that gets better when players can split up without stealing spotlight from each other or making the GM want to kill himself.

Just as an FYI someone on RPGnet is putting together charm trees up on google drive: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bxgz8bn-uAEeZ3paSmRIZktSdUU&usp=sharing Kinda shocking they weren't in the book, given that the charms don't seem to be laid out in any appreciable order.

Bardlebee posted:Was Wu-Jian in the last edition? Because the city sounds pimp as hell to run a game in. Very excited for the new locations myself, typos/questionable art aside. There is some art in the book that you're like "Wow this is exalted" and I love how a lot of it is very brush stroke stylized and then there are others that just break the fabric of the mood and style. Yeah, while there's a lot of technically competent art that's good, in the context of Exalted, an absolute ton of stuff is leaving me cold. Also was Beloved Adorei in the leak? Because heart-reading romance-daiklaive is the best daiklaive.
