Danith posted:I took a mission that I thought would be pretty easy, find and deliver 9 robots. Well, I've only found 2 in the system. Is there a easy way to find where I can get more or do I just have to keep visiting stations and seeing what they stock? The latter is the quickest way of dealing with it. After you visit a station, you can just find out if a certain commodity is 'in stock' just on mouseover in the system map from then onward.

It's kinda annoying on the Icarus.

Almost immediately after starting the game I got lost into playing Space Euro Truck Simulator. Besides the gripes that everyone seems to have with the trade UI I'm bummed there is no storage you can purchase at stations or maybe at the Merchant Guild. Without noticing, I had three stations almost simultaneously go into a tech boom which tanked the prices on data cubes/robots in the system. Instead of being able to buy them all up and store it and wait till it passed I found myself stuck with a full cargo load flying around for 20 minutes from station to station just trying to find one I could sell to break even.

Anyone else using the Steam Controller? I've found it actually pretty good in game once I got the sensitivity on the right "owl eye" correct. Not sure if I can go back to the keyboard on it ever again. But I would be down for a different config if anyone knows of one.

The large merchant's guild special cargo holds on the big hauler ships do a decent job, but yea you're right about not having a stash. Merchant's guild would make sense as a place to put it since their stations wouldn't change hands and potentially become hostile to you.. I guess unless you just declared war on them or something and went full pirate.

Does anyone know exactly how those work? Are they a temporary deal or are you like unlocking the full view of that system ever after? I don't bother with beacons very much so far. I managed to get the pirates to like me. They have a really neat 5-broadside ship for pocket change and some interesting missions. Lots of "shoot some enemy pirates and also there's loot!" and "go extort this trader for loot!" missions.

Since joining the Merc's guild I haven't worried about trade. I blow up bad guys (which includes Militia) and collect their loot. Then sell it at the Merchant's guild for extra profit.

Beam weapon broadsides are so much more satisfying than cannons, watching health bars DROP instead of dribbling away. Seconding the love for the Merc guild. New players should power through the story missions in the first system, buy a jump drive, and never look back.

There's a story line? I think I left it in the first system after the Specter wakes up. The Specter, by the way, is probably the reason you can control a big rear end ship by yourself since she integrates herself with all the systems on board.

You only get better armor by buying better armor. Bigger ships just have more hull hitpoints to wear down after shields and armor have been breached.

game owns, the space hillbilly mercenary simulator i never knew i needed. the difficulty ratings for missions are kinda hosed though. Ill fly into systems marked VERY DIFFICULT and my guns will tear through them only slightly slower while my shields only deplete slightly faster. Also dumbfire rockets own, those plus the close range guns let me shread ships pretty quickly. Wish there was a way to show what the firing line on the missiles was, It changes from ship to ship and im bad a remembering how my ship is angled while speeding between ships spewing space cannon fire

New patch downloading now, here's what it does 1) Tons of escort mission improvements. Escorted ships will blow the crud out of any asteroids in their way. Your ship also won't noodle off into the distance if they react to damage from other ships. Also, escort missions are always to outposts - not stations just on the other side of an annoying planet. Lots of good stuff. 2) Can disable camera shake from the launcher if it makes you ill 3) Fixed a rare mission-related crash 4) Nasty Surprise mission doesn't have as huge of a Faction penalty 5) Antimatter drive mk1 and EMP Nova weapons aren't available ( they weren't intended to be for sale, and EMP Nova doesn't even work!) 6) Fixed a few mission spawns that were confusing/inappropriate factions 7) Mission waypoints on a jumpgate also show the NAME of the target system 8) The Radovich is no longer flagged as a miner. I.E. it won't independently decide to blow up asteroids on your behalf. 9) Fixed rare secondary weapon swapping crash. 10) Fixed super-rare case where a bunch of moons around a planet would cause a station to spawn IN a planet 11) In cases where the window is resized from the desired resolution to something that actually fits on the desktop, mouse aspect ratio is corrected so that mouse clicks aren't 'off' 12) AI turrets properly take into account range increase from range extenders in all situations 13) Fragment Recovery mission Hexxite is indestructible until revealed by a pulse 14) Korian Super Swarm mission tweaked 15) Militia bribe chance increased 16) Player turrets now have extra simulation ticks in low-fps situations to prevent bobbling in low FPS. (hopefully) 17) Meet Zenya mission - conversation activation range doubled, and an additional tip reminding you to scan ALL traders was added. 18) To reduce exploitability, traders will only offer to purchase between 1 and 5 of your cargo components ( no more guaranteed high-priced sale of 20 meteoric diamonds, sorry! ) I actually found a MK1 Antimatter Drive, then I noticed it was worse than the Mk2 Plasma drive I was using.

I kinda feel they should of added multipliers that add on as you go up the classes, such as the corvette staying the default and dreadnoughts topping out at 2.5-3 times the original value to compensate the slowness of these ships. However it might make earlier missions very impossible when you start to fight larger ships in the starting system
