Tangled Depths: Fixed a bug that made Tenoch and Xochitl walk away from players who were trying to buy items from them.
Fixed issues in the Kill Cotoni and Huetzi event in which the bosses would continue to be invulnerable for a few seconds after returning from healing or would return to heal themselves too quickly.

The Master Scribe’s icon now correctly appears on the map in guild halls.

Personally I'm fine with Masteries should be the only thing gated content wise and have no complains regarding the time it needs to unlock them especially since they are account wide. But imo it's a mistake to gate the Elite Specializations, especially for people like me who enjoy many alts. I had a blast with them during beta and it really renewed my interests in GW2 again so gating the main reason for most people buying the expac is kind of harsh. Maybe give us the first 3 traits to play around with and also smooth the way to the new harder maps? And no I don't expect them to be all immediately available but it's going to be a while before the average casual player can play with their elite specs. Which is a shame because again, the elite specs really are fun and adds a lot to the game.

I'm just bummed out because GW2 has always been close to prefect for a casual player like myself. Gating the Masteries/story should have been enough for an 'endgame'. Doing it to Elite specs too feels tedious and like their philosophy has turned for the grindy worst.

I actually agree, I don't mind masteries taking a while to unlock, but elites, gently caress that poo poo.

That's why everyone is frustrated. The Xpac gets so much right that to have so much of it crippled by one bad overriding design philosophy is immensely frustrating. Gating Masteres? gently caress yes. Gating story missions? Eh, ok. Gating Elites? Hell no.

Also goodbye Courtyard. I will miss you. You often sucked, but could be a nice change of pace in-between endless rotations of Kylho, Forest, and Foefire.

Welp, I just got my Revenant from 50 to 80 in a single day in the Labyrinth :v: Now I feel like I should do the same with my other 50's characters, but I think I need a break from spooky scary skeletons. How long does the Halloween event stay?

Thanks!

So, I guess the fractals past level 50 require more AR? So if I want to do those I need to start fusing the +1s or buy HoT to get to that special island?

I did an event in the first HoT area where you had to plant bombs at the base of a giant tendril while crashing helicopters fall all around you and it was cool as hell. The new areas all look and feel really cool I just really hate the overtuned enemies combined with the sparse waypoints.

I doubt goons, SFD I know at the very least but I'm safely including all goons here, will ever have issues getting a couple pals to group up for hero points. The average pubbie though, is hosed :(

For Scrapper, function gyro is finnicky as gently caress, but I actually don't hate the other gyros so far. I was reading a lot of disappointment about them, but it really helps that they're a daze on self destruct. Just don't go about intending to keep them around for their whole lifespan.

The cleansing one in particular i'm getting some good mileage out of in verdant brink. conditions have always been a pain in the rear end for my engineer. Having a second healing turret type small party cleanse that pulls double duty as an aoe interrupt is actually pretty nice to have.

The hate on the gyros was before they had a tuning pass on them. They were slow, had huge cooldowns and were made out of tissue paper all of which I believe have largely been addressed.

Has anyone found a map of hero points and where they are, what it takes to get them, etc? If not, I might throw something together where we can collaborate.

Not that I want to spoil it for anyone, because exploring the new maps is some of the most fun I've had in a video game in a really long time. It's just nice to have a second option.

mostly just fix the gates around Elites and Story content, and tune the mobs a bit so they don't practically require 5-man parties to grind effectively--but as of this writing it's really frustrating.

Are the zones just so gigantic that I don't see many other players, or is the whole megaserver thing not working in the new content zones?

I ask because I'm actually not seeing a lot of other players in the new zones, but I see a gently caress ton of them in, say, Queensdale.

It's an issue for the part that I quoted: it's not very fun being having only one to three other players anywhere near you when night hits and everything turns into a dungeon champion event battle.

Since you get 10 hero points per challenge in HoT areas, is it worth going back and maxing out all the points you can get in the old world? I never bothered to do that with any of my characters and was able to hit 100% on normal skills and specializations with what most of my characters had saved up, although only one had enough to hit the first the box of the elite specialization afterwards, so I'm not sure if it's worth trying to max it out on my Revenant that I'm working on those last 20 levels I wasn't able to fill out with tomes. If it is worth doing, any good maps showing them off? It's been a long time since I did any map completion and I happily dumped all that from memory the second I could.

getting only the hero points from maps and not fully completing the maps themselves only takes a fraction of the time that actual world completion does, so it's not too much of a stretch to get the ~200 points from that easily enough. the amount needed still needs to be reduced, though. given that anet probably doesn't want to completely negate the need for points, i'd take a wild guess and say that 300 might be what they go for. possibly.

also, the octovine event is genuinely awful due to it involving a million variables and any one of them going wrong ruining it for everyone

I crafting or tome leveled all but two of my characters, and didn't do the story on most of them, which means it's a gigantic loving pain in my rear end, and I'm not interested in putting in the kind of commitment I did a decade ago with MMOs. It's still way too much time.

the octovine event is really cool in theory, in practice it's a bunch of brain dead pubbies running around while 2 or 3 people yell at them for being idiots and the event is tuned for way too many people compared to how many people even attempt it
