So I was interested in the new expansion and liked some of the changes they made with XP from story missions so I decided to try it out. I did a solo flashpoint with the cheat mode robot and all I got for drops the entire time was common data crystals. Do flashpoints not drop items anymore or is this a solo mode thing? Also what the gently caress do I do with data crystals, I can't find any use for them besides level 65 gear and companion gifts. I feel like I'm missing something obvious because this is all so incomprehensible. :downs:

Solo mode only gives credits and data crystals. With the release of KOTFE, BW consolidated the commendation gear. You can use those data crystals to by mod gear in the Fleet.

So Dread Fortress story mode -

Started at about 11:45am at level 60. Decided to pop an XP booster. Finished raid at 12:30pm at level 65.

There's no longer any need to click crystals before Draxus "Your outside forces have over ridden the gate controls"

It appears the robots no longer blow up and cause raid wide damage if Brontes hits them with her laser.

Definitely catering to casuals. :D

They're still there, but no one in the entire group died to them so I suspect the insta kill is no longer there. :( I'm going to be upset if they're gone too, seems the Powertech translocate move was designed for them.

Yeah you're right...gonna have to get familiar with Bounty Week and the Gree stuff again considering how freaking expensive the Chevin gear is.

Went to the vendor with 500 Rakghoul canisters thinking how expensive can it be...yeah that expensive. :stare:

I asked about it earlier but didn't get a response; what's the point of doing Kingpins? Just purple rep tokens so you can buy more poo poo more quickly from the BBA vendor? If I decide I don't care about any of that at all, is it safe to just sell my completed bounties on the GTN (they seem to be listed for quite a price) or is there some secret benefit to them that I missed from just reading the dulfy guide?

Nope, just rep. The contracts sell for a poo poo ton, because there's some really good gear that takes a bunch of contracts.

Edit - And achievements, obviously. There's one for killing them all, and one for capturing them all.

So it seems they are gonna fix this on official release day. Could someone then please post if that terminal works correctly ? No Khem Val, no sub.

So just a thought I was having in regards to story specific companions (KoFE ones) and grinding influences and going forward. Basically it might not be the best idea to do it on them, especially for the sake of crafting stuff. Basically HK-55 died without any warning, and while I'm not sure that you could feed them gifts before the story ended, it throws into question whether or not all your story friends will stick around forever. I would say that Lana, Theran, and Koth are pretty safe bets, being romances, but it kinda leaves the others in a grey area. I could see Senya dying dueling her children or sacrificing herself another way. Just a thought that it might be better to spend your gifts on non story companions in FE.

Any of the main characters who are still alive by Chapter 9 seem like safe bets, because we're going to be staying on chapter 9 for a couple of months and people are going to use the opportunity to grind out influence with them. HK-55 isn't really the same because you never got any opportunity to grind out influence with him unless you paused the story and went and bought a bunch of gifts for him on the fleet or something.

That "disintegrator" ceiling thing is so good. But my other favorite - which only cost one contract - is the classy still-life painting of a big-rear end crate of weapons. I had been putting a little bit of art on the walls of my character's "workshop" where he fixes up old speeder bikes, and a painting of a big box of weapons is such a good fit for that.

I've been going for sort of a seedy Mos Eisley vibe for my stronghold in general, and I'm really hoping I can eventually scrape up enough old currency to buy the Chevin and Gree NPC's. You can't have a Mos Eisley vibe without weird aliens! I've been buying all that junk and wreckage and battle damage from the new packs by the stack, though, and that has made such a huge difference!

Some of the Star Fortress drops have been fantastic for it, too. My favorite is the Factory Welding Droid.

To add to this I will also point out that the current crop of space-waifus/husbandos are also all among the main cast right now and for better or for worse the forums will go ballistic if anything happens to them.

Does anyone have to double-click the crew skills icons to get level-appropriate missions to show up? It's nothing more than a nuisance, but I am wondering if there is something I can do to fix it.

When you pop up the crew-skill mission dialog, if you've previously used it for a different skill, it will show up at the appropriate skill level for the previous skill. So if I can do rank 4 slicing missions, and then I'm about to send Andronikos out on a diplomacy mission, it's going to start off blank, because I can only do rank 3 diplomacy missions. Clicking the diplomacy icon again brings me to the correct rank. If I do a rank 3 diplomacy mission and then get ready to send shipbot off on a slicing mission, the slicing missions will be rank 3 at first. Click again to go to the correct rank.

I think it's a bug, but not a huge one.

While I agree that romances are very safe, I still think there is sizable risk when it comes to Senya and SCORPIO. Less for T7 unless you are a total evil bastard, but SCORPIO I can easily see loving off, and Senya seems very poised for a heroic sacrifice, unless you've given in enough to Valkorian to where he can seize control of you and save her. You might be right, but I dunno, I'd save off for those two at least.

Pretty sure it's 4 accuracy augments and the rest crit that is the current optimal build. Massive crit is better DPS then power or mastery, or combination. All the crit all the time. Source is the forums and someone doing math.

God help me I was thinking about reinstalling this awful nightmare game and leveling a 17th character, but if companions are as OP as they sound I'm not sure I want to bother. I guess it's not like the story was ever that hard, but I'd get bored quick if my companion could one-shot stuff, Treek already made things easy enough. Have they mentioned anything about re-tuning them, or do they have their hands full with unbreaking all the stuff that I'm sure the expansion broke?

Anything that makes leveling faster or easier is fine by me. I can't imagine having more fun because my companion is weaker. The sheer volume of trash mobs in this game is kinda ridiculous. This is the only MMO I've played where I kinda want to see the full storylines of each class, and that should be as painless as possible to do.
