it's worth it just for 1password, so you can copy/paste without having to leave the app if it doesn;t support the extension

He was a former pro athlete, but I forget the sport.

Did 9.1 somehow break the shortcut where pressing and holding the comma button would make an apostrophe and holding the period would get quotation marks? It doesn't seem to be working for me anymore.

Weird. Holding comma for a few seconds used to just type the apostrophe, now it pops up a little menu where apostrophe is the only option.

Maybe, but the way Apple stores work is so bizarre and confusing compared to every other shop that they're quite unpleasant to visit sometimes, especially when they're busy. Went to one last week, apparently the only way to buy a reserved iPhone, get service or do anything is to cram in around one poor guy running check-in at the front of the shop. It's always a cluster from iPhone launch day until after the holidays. Unfortunately the quality of the person on point varies wildly, and really has entirely too much control over the general flow/vibe of the store at any given moment, especially for the genius bar. I was a bit of a masochist and enjoyed that position though. edit: And in all honesty most customers were pretty cool, but man the bad ones were just impossibly bad.

I have a 32gb iPad Air that I'm very happy with. AppleCare will run out next week. It has a few minor scuffs, and a jailbreak app shows 89% battery life. I think the accidental damage deductible was $49 when I bought. Is it totally crazy to let the toddler loose with the thing so I can pay and get a fresh one?

I suppose you can always do the "oops, I knocked it off my counter onto the tile floor in the kitchen" route if you're looking for plausible stories. I'm just not sure how much additional scrutiny Apple gives "accidental" damage that happens right at the end of coverage. I know a rash of "accidents" used to happen at work when new iPhones/Androids came out. A quick change in policy to replace it using whatever the phone group had on hand in their surplus stock instead of a new phone curbed that practice pretty quickly. Users now have to wait until their corporate phone account was eligible for an upgrade before they can get a new one.

Broken iPad deductible under AppleCare is still $49. If it ever goes up it'll still be for you whatever it was when you bought it.

Nostalgia4Butts posted:they probably do They absolutely do, I got my iPad Air replaced a month or so ago because I dropped it on my tile bathroom floor and it was $50. (A legitimate accident, I might add.) To add to that, the cost is listed in the contract you purchase. Trying to change this after the fact would likely require some legal intervention and notification since it's an insurance policy with a defined time limit.

The fraud talk is almost certainly why they've been raising the deductible price.

How is the Mini 2 holding up with iOS 9? Thinking of getting one for my son; he's using our old Mini 1 as a hand-me-down and the 16GB of disk is really cramping our style now that kids games seem to want 500MB of disk each. Can't decide between the Mini 2 and Mini 4.

Can't decide between the Mini 2 and Mini 4. The mini 2 is fine on iOS 9. It's noticeably slow next to an air 2. Tabs reload, things take like 1-2 seconds to open, that sort of thing. I say it's fine because I can't perceive a difference from the day I bought it, and at that point I felt like it kicked rear end. There are a couple of new animations or functions that do stagger a bit, but it's not bad. All that being said, I would never recommend buying one now over a 4. Buying a 2-3 year old product new is kind of a dumb idea in most cases.

So, I'm kinda bummed that Apple got rid of the one-piece Smart Case for the Mini 4. I just side-migrated from an Ipad Air 2 to a Mini 4 due to the better form factor for me, and I'm burning with envy at my wife's Mini 3 with the full one-piece case. I have the Smart Cover, but I really do not like the newer hinge construction (floppier) and the open-side of the cover's lip now extends past the tablet itself like it's expecting the back piece to be there to line up with. Asinine cost aside, do I just punt and get the smart cover back piece for this thing? Is it comparable in fit to the old one-piece designs? Or is there a non-Apple one-piece for the Mini 4 that's as good as Apple's stuff usually is? I always run my full-size iPad's with just a smart cover but I feel like the Minis need back and front coverage for some dumb reason.

Does anyone make a decent leather cover for the air 2? I stopped into an apple store the other day and only saw leather full cases, the covers were only polyurethane.

Compared to my iPhone 6S it is definitely slower, but the 6S has better hardware. I am still happy with it though.
