The desire for a mum to swear on therefor suggests a subconscious desire for something wholly good and loving that Namtab can trust in and swear to, like a lord or a charge, in this post-postmodern, increasingly secular age. Perhaps it is an indicator that the blood of chivalrous knights runs through his veins, though any observant audience member could have told you that since it was revealed early on his name is actually Batman, the fabled Dark Knight, backwards. holy poo poo

Jojo... I hate it when battle shounen/card games anime explain beforehand what they're going to do to trap their opponent. It feels like a huge waste of time when it's 100% telegraphed that it's going to fail.
