I know I've said it in this thread before, but you can really understand why people assumed SSTs were going to be a big thing in the 1970s.

Spoke to a guy from Boeing flight test the other day who had been Shanghai'ed into doing some training. His opinion of the a350: it's a legacy airplane. By the time Airbus catches up to where Boeing is at now, they'll have their suborbital transport operating.

I don't care if it's partisan braggadocio, I hope he's right!

Best part is the Edelbrock engine control unit. Can't figure out if that's the most ironic or fitting choice for a Russian civilian FADEC.

Just got a random tour of Solar Impulse, nbd or anything.

"Hey you wanna get a tour of some random around the world solar plane? It's over in that hangar."

"Wait, do you mean Solar Impulse?! It's HERE?!"

"Yeah I think that's it's name. The person taking care of it wants to give us a tour."

I proceeded to make fanboy noises.

Why do we need a long range bomber? Can't we just add more fuel tanks to the F-35 All Purpose Aircraft?

Watch the proposal be four F-35's stapled together.

If they linked together while flying, like Voltron pieces, I'd be ok with that.
