Keys are still good for selling, your gear can be upgraded (though most of it is probably worse than more recent fleet/rep gear), and the Recluse is still a great ship. I can't answer about the dreadnoughts, I've never flown them.

Good job. The Dreadnoughts are loving terrible and that money could've gone towards something good like upgrading gear or whatever else. Recluse is still one of the best ships out there.

I unironically love the look of the vulcan ships and the D'kyr is actually pretty alright now that they gave it a universal seat, but the fact it's been like three years and it still has no fleet version is baffling. Even the Guramba has one now.

If some of the returning players feel that they absolutely need to burn their stipend on zen ships, the t6 battlecruiser bundle at least has a decent starship trait. The tactical command battlecruisers have an even better trait, but the command bundles are a waste of money. Which means $90 to unlock All Hands on Deck for all three factions

The T6 Dreads aren't the worst thing out there. The new Gal-X is finally serviceable now that they revamped it's Tac layout. There are better ships, but if you like space whales and want one from the show it's an alright direction to go.

The Kolasi is actually pretty kickass. With the addition of a hangar bay it basically turns into a zippier armitage. It's a fun ship, but the trait is worthless so don't feel bad just going straight for the fleet version.

Recluse is still awesome. It's the other side of the "best carrier" argument, and has access to the overall best pets as well. A T-5U recluse is still capable of monster DPS.

What's the Mobius like nowadays? I have the full temporal set (tachyokinetic, rainbow beam, temporal torpedo) and both the Manheim and Tipler devices - was wondering what direction it's worth taking my gear in, I've got advanced fleet XII antiproton Dual Cannons, the 360 iconian beam and a turret taking up the non-temporal poo poo slots. I think I still have the warp core that came with the mission that gave the Obelisk carrier for Christ's sake, I really haven't done all that much in-game to it other than use the free T5-U upgrade it came with.

e: On a more important note, I'm still waiting on the Romulan Temporal shuttle :colbert:

I highly recommend the T6 Mogai if you have zen to burn. Very good turning, 5 tac consoles (Fleet version) and sexy boff layout. The starship trait is also pretty awesome.

Huh, the STO wiki is always woefully incomplete. You get a discount on fleet modules for the T6 Fleet Mogai if you bought the Morrighu, right?

My older klank captain has always been in disruptor destroyers, it's kind of a theme so the Kolasi was for her. I have tons of fleet credits so I popped the elite fighters in it after swinging by Furkenau. And you are of course correct, the T6 fleet version looks worth skipping on to soon.

I'm glad the recluse is still good, I've always had a soft spot for it - both in looks and playstyle. I love the interior with the pop up consoles.

The best part is that the interior is clearly designed so that the "walls" and "ceiling" would be crewed too; they have all the same consoles and setups. It's just the engine can't handle changing the direction of gravity like that so it's just implied. :v:

The Mobius is outdated, but still perfectly serviceable I'd say. The tachyo is still great and the advanced fleet dhcs are ok, but everything else you mentioned is trash and fyi clicky consoles are always complete garbage so don't ask for advice on them, because the only reason to slot one is for your immersion :airquote:

The new T6 ones that actually have passive bonuses are a bit better... they're still generally suboptimal but at least you aren't completely wasting the slot while you mess around with the ship's toys.

The fact Cryptic hasn't gone back and added similar bonuses to all the old ship consoles - or even the early T6 ship consoles before they started giving bonuses - is an atrocity of massive laziness though. :effort:

All praise to Dear Leader - I am somehow still in SFD. Question for you all. I've a 51 tac flying a Dervish with Mk XI dual heavy purple cannons. I think the last time I played was over a year ago and I'd just finished up the Borg content. Any recommendations on where to go from here? I got my T5U token, but not sure of the best use for it. Upgrade my little Dervish or get something new? I'm not too keen on spending money on this game but I've been in the same ship for a long time so I might entertain it.

I also saw that I have an Andromeda cruiser to claim for some reason. I kinda like the idea of jumping into a cruiser but I have no equipment for this class, 450k credits and, I hear tell that buying gear on the exchange is a fools errand these days.

Aside from equipment advice - any recommendations on what content to consume next? I gather there is some between 50 and 60, and the new expansion drops tomorrow right? Help me goons - how do I get back into this game? There's seemingly so many possibilities I'm not sure where to start.

Let's see.... the lockbox ship is basically a reskinned command cruiser (and not the version with 4 tac consoles).

The escort is ok for an escort, not the current meta but sure it's decent at what it does I guess. Rather fly a pilot escort.

The dreadnought prize is good but IMO inferior to a T5-U Narcine carrier.

Still, "OMG Iconian" should get some sales.

I don't care much about Mine Trap, but Breach is a goddamn shame since it's probably the single best-designed space STF Cryptic put together. It's a shame they hosed up the difficulty on it when they retooled advanced/added elite modes to it, it kept people from doing it for ages. At least Borticus implied that they'll be retooled and come back later so maybe there's some weird behind the scenes bugs or something, but it's still kind of weird and arbitrary without full context.

Breach was my favorite STF too. Pity it's been dead since Delta since if you wanted dyson marks and cybernetic things you just hit up the dino zone for half an hour and get a shitload for less effort.

The STF itself worked great and was actual fun but there is no legit reason to do any of those old STFs anymore so of course nobody queues.

Give players a reason to do it again? Nah gently caress it, just remove it. :effort:

In fairness there's way too many queues right now and a huge disparity in time vs reward for most of them. At this point Cryptic really needs to look at CCA, ISA, and the other five-minute queues that are still run and balance the rewards around that. Storming the Spire would be a hell of a lot more popular if you got 150 marks from it instead of the 35 or whatever loving joke it is for a 15 minute queue. Once this is actually balanced and difficulties are adjusted then Cryptic could start rotating queues weekly, having bonus rewards from a "random queue" option, and other things to get the less seen ones back in use.

But this would actually take some effort so not gonna happen. :geno:

Just jumped on properly for the first time in months to claim my T5U token and immediately apply it to my beloved Vesta. Played through the second last Iconian mission and it was not bad at all. After threeish months of SWTOR going back to space combat is awesome.

It literally is the old one. The boss mobs are a bit more involved, but that's about it. It's just the undine battlezone with a different skin, some cutscenes, and the addition of Mirror ships and environmental hazards. So, if you liked the old one, you'll probably like this one.

That said, a lot more mirror ships spawn than Undine ships did, and massed tricobalt fire can actually be dangerous, so this new one is almost challenging instead of just annoying and slow.
