Framerate Police exists to provide a trigger warning for retards that go into hysterics when a game isn't 60 fps

The people that follow TB very much foster the belief that 30 fps is terrible, even if just the mouse in the menu screen is 30 fps they will dismiss the game. The thing is, TB has completely fostered and created this belief purposefully.

It's good to know if a game runs only at 30 fps, imo. Maybe I'll wait for a mod or a patch. Maybe I'll buy a game that supports 60 fps and looks nicer to me instead. What a horrible thing to do, to buy games based on your preferences.

30fps isn't a dealbreaker but it's always very obvious to me if a game runs at 30 vs 60, in fact I'm surprised that some people apparently can't tell the difference.

If you can't tell the difference, please see an ophthalmologist. If you care to the point that you refuse to buy 30 FPS games, please see a psychiatrist.

i don't like playing PC games at 30 fps because it feels physically bad to look at the game. i also don't like using anything less than like 90 FOV. something like 60 FOV makes me nauseous which is why i had to mod GTA 5 to have a higher FOV in first person. sometimes i play game with 110 FOV which is like a full-on fish eye and i find it very soothing since then i'm very aware of my surroundings. but then again, i only mostly play multiplayer action games where 60 fps is pretty much mandatory if you want to actually hit something with a gun welp that's my story

Minorkos posted:http://gfycat.com/HappyExemplaryAchillestang It's like the difference between 780 and 1080, negligible at best. Though it is hilarious that such a lovely low texture game runs at below 60 fps. Yes it's different, but .000000001 and .000000002 are also different. The AV cable is a really good comparison honestly. They both stem from turbo nerds pretending a small variance matters outside of outlier situations and convincing other nerds the same.

if a game is locked to one particular framerate i don't really give a poo poo. it's really only when i see dips in frame rates that it can be really noticeable. i.e. in tomb raider when the framerate dips whenever lara's pretty tressfx hair is on screen.

1080 vs 720 can easily be an issue of how far away / how big your screen is. it's why 4k is a bit of a wank, because unless you've got a massive loving screen you can't actually tell the difference
